PostSubject: Dapple Grey Welsh Mountain Pony - Repaint   Tue Oct 22, 2013 2:23 pm

From the Rubbish-bin-rescue box of mine...

After much umming and ahhhing, I finally decided to cut my losses and attempt to resurrect this poor, sad little equine.

As I trimmed away at some of the rough edges, a lovely little creature emerged.
I also discovered the ears were hugely unproportioned - and had to go. Removing the ears did indeed help with the final outcome.

I did a bit of research, after deciding that it was to be a Welsh Mountain Pony, and based on shape, decided on type B. Type A is probably a possibility also, but the body was slightly more like type B, and less like an Arabian.

Now for the colour. I did a fair bt of looking, and opted for a Dapple Grey colour in between this:

And so my little Dapple Welshie was born. Painted all last night, oops = stayed up too late. Razz Razz

- WIP - Just quickly, for fun.

For interest, I will begin with the original, probably not very exciting, scarily ugly and anatomically awful base model. A donkey.

And, of course, compared with a Schleich model for size. Physically, it wouldn't be this large next to a Hanoverian, but it still works size wise.

This one will be available for sale on ebay. Thoughts on pricing anyone?

Thanks!
