PostSubject: Safari Ltd 2014 Cave dwellers Identification   Wed Oct 30, 2013 11:54 am

Hey guys!
Last weekend I placed a question on Safari's Facebook page about the species on Cave dwellers toob. They gave me a generic answer: Okay, José, here goes: Cave Dwellers TOOB includes: Crayfish, Crab, Spider, Scorpion, Catfish, Milipede, Olm, and Eel.
I did some research, and identified (I think) almost all the species.
The toob:[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Glad you liked it! But I still need help to identify the spider! It looks like some sort of tarantula, but I could not find nothing of the sort.

Don't you think that eyeless cave-dwelling huntsman spider's legs are thinner than the miniature's?

I was thinking about that, but there has to be a point where the manufacturer cannot produce such thin pieces without it breaking in the mold. That was really all I could find on cave-dwelling spiders online. Razz

Perhaps a Lygromma spider is closer to the figure.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Some toobs are quite dull, while other are superb: this year's backyard birds is beautiful. Let's hope the dwellers are as good.

Unfortunately, no. Although amphibians terrify me (it's a phobia), I'd love to see those human fish! Have you?

Yup. An aquarium with them inside is one of the bigger attractions in Postojna cave. They are surprisingly graceful and important in our biology science.

Great, thanks so much for this effort. Was in preparation to start such a thread,...;-p
Yes, the "baby Dragon", Proteus anguinus, is definitely an animal with cultural influence.
