| I have pleasure in sharing the 2014 Barbary sheep - a first amongst the current brands. This sculpt was inspired by a photo of a Barbary in an aggressive position that was about to fight with another male - it's head is lowered ready for combat. Personally I love the assertive character of the sculpt although I wish I could share an image from the other side which is a little better. Enjoy [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| Wonderful news this Barbary ram!!! I think it will be necessary to buy two so they will look natural, like before a fight. Amazing figure |

You are right, otherwise it's pose is pointless and that's a big minus in my opinion... _________________ Robert

For me, I think, it's not minus. Fighting scenes will make any collection look more interesting. I remember from my childhood collection even these cheap chinese animals had some fighting animals, especially rams and billy goats. I loved that and now I think it's very nice to see it. But the minus is, two will be more expensive to buy, that's sure. |

I don't think there are more than 15-20% of us collectors who make scenes and those will indeed enjoy it. The rest of us will have a replica who fights with the air. I guess I will just have to lean him on a tree or rock so he can scratch his head _________________ Robert

| Of course I am very happy withh species choice although my feelings about that picture are not the best. The fighting pose is a good idea to the wrong animal. This creature is too beautiful to be presented in a fighting pose, it looks much more majestic with head up like you did with the markhor. Maybe the fighting pose worked much better with the European mouflon due to its simplistic shape. I hope, as you say, that it looks better from the other angle. It will obviously be in my wish list and I am impressed with the amount of unusual species CollectA is releasing again, fantastic year again!!! |

| Great species choice, although a mirror might help,...or i have to buy two and one will be a rework-candiadte to get the neck of one bending the head the other way,...otherwise it's less combat than performance art or something like that,... But if one buys mouflon and barbary sheep,...?;-p

| Hi all I described the pose incorrectly - this is meant to be a standing Barbary sheep with its face pulled in closer to its body whilst it is slightly lowered. It does look like it is in a combat pose but it can also mean a number of other things. Does everyone want models exactly like Schleich with all animals just standing still with head held high? On one side we have those who complain that Schleich just makes standing lifeless poses and then another who disagree with any model sculpted in a way that deviates from the Schleich norm so what would some of you like in future? Unfortunately most of the wildlife range of 2013 consist of models doing something and very few static poses but if collectors would like CollectA to revert to the Schleich 'static head held high' positions then I can see what can be done about this. Just let me know I have come to realise that you can never please everyone all of the time and at the same time.

Exactly ! And even they can esaily find a place where he looks natural :) Look at all the rearing horses we have, - horses do not rear like that for nothing , and who cares ? And, yes, it is a natural law that nothing will ever make everybody happy. Even CHOCOLATE Or a a fabulous Barvary sheep Do you remember [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ? |

| I love this! Wonderful to have a Barbary soon to be available.
The pose doesn't bother me at all. I don't set up scenes with my animals (and of course in saying this, I don't mean to imply that my personal way of proceeding is the "correct" way -- not at all!). But I also don't need all the figures I own to be in static positions. This looks great. |

Numaan, I agree with almost everything although I don't understand from where these comments come. I have red all comments before yours and I don't see any criticism about unusual poses. Most love it actually. I am one of the few that makes reference to the pose and I am saying it is a good idea only the wrong pose to the wrong animal but it is merely an opinion. I appreciate your effort with the brand to give us the best and I also feel the same when a figure where I gave my best to please everyone is criticized. But it always will happen. I remember reacting to a negative comment on Mojo sable project and although I still don't understand, my reaction was not neccessary. About poses, of course we want unusual poses, in my point of view, mainly to common creatures. Unusual species usually don't need unusual poses, walking or standing can work very well. CollectA shouldn't make them all standing looking to one of the sides as Schleich does, I don't want 20 cows standing looking right or left to see the new farmer arriving with his new tractor. Though, it doesn't hurt me that 2014 wild ass is standing unexpressively, that the waterbuck is in a typical Schleich pose. These are unusual species, any regular pose will fit very well. A barbary sheep is a spectacular creature and the best pose to see all its glamour is standing like CollectA markhor. Though, I am truly happy that CollectA is making a new zebra in an unusual pose, probably walking or running. I don't like that Mojo made a new zebra standing in allert pose, what saves clearly the figure is that it is superiorly sculpted. Zebras are a lot and it is good to diversify their poses. I hope you understand now. There are a lot of excitment with CollectA, you know it . And a forum is more a place of discussion where everyone is allowed to give opinions as long as it is not ofensive. Keep your work we're enjoying it. |
