MOJO 2014- Indian Pangolin 387174

Great model James and Roger     

AAAARGHH!!    .....This morning I wrote that maybe it could be an aardvark.....I did not go that far away ! a Pangolin !! Some months ago I placed it on my top ten wishlist...and now here it is : a MASTERPIECE! I love the pose ,the figure, the color, all is simply perfect !! Thank you Rogerio and thank you Mojo for giving us this amazing creature !!

Ay last I can see this beauty with colours    it is again a cherry on the 2014 cake   

I love it, it is as good as the wild boar ( and it really mean something) and it is a so rarely done specie. June will be a beautiful month

Safari Ltd already made an African Giant pangolin, a bit big... But it is a Giant pangolin

This one look great, one of the favorites new animal in 2014.

I hope a ardwark would be one new in 2015!

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this topic.
I want to thanks Mojö and particularly James, for letting me to discuss and participate in a release from the first step of choosing a species to the last details. I didn't know what a brainchild was but Simone already explained OK, the idea is mine, the concept is mine, but the most important, the fabulous work of sculpting and the great painting, are all from Mojö masters. My contribution is only minimal. So, I want also to congratulate those that gave shape to that piece! It looks very realistic in pictures and I suspect in real it will look even better.
Thanks also to all these positive comments, I was not sure an Indian pangolin could have such an enthusiastic acceptance, I know people here love best horns and hooves but choice was mine and I love anteaters! It is a big joy for me that you're happy with the choice!
It is great to have James presenting the figure, a great presentation but James, very good but not as good as Sergey's!
Well, I hope this figure can turn these unusual and wonderful creatures best known and work as a little alert to what humans are doing with them!

Andreas, which Indian pangolin do you have in your collection?
Philipp, do you mean the Hausser pangolin? It was not really used as an inspiration although I find it a brilliant figure. I hope someday to find it for me too!

I hope that figure can help people learning a little more about this unusual but wonderful creature. It seems people im Texas is more used with lizards but that's already a start.

It's even listed under Amphibians and Reptiles on eBay

Does anyone know why this figure is so difficult to find less than a year after it's release? Did they not make many? I can't find it at any major US online outlets. The only one I found was selling for almost 25 USD on ebay. 25 dollars for a figure that's not even a year old? Really? What's going on here?

They have it at MPV , I wished I was going to buy there, - I could have got one for you

Most of Mojö customers buy only part of the collection or sell it under their collection. When a "sub-collection" is made, usually only the best known animals or those with more commercial potential are chosen. Mojö iss easily find in Portuguese local shops but they are not selling all range. It is sold as Animal Planet and by Science4You. Pangolin is not in their selection. I believe Hobby Lobby is also not selling the pangolin. When the project was started, we knew it could be risky commercially, not because final buyers don't like it, I believe they do, but because direct customers are not very receptive to unusual animals. I believe soon figures like these will find place in the market I am very thankful to Mojö for accepting this project and for giving a lot of atention to it making it one of the best figures of their range.
If I have ever the chance of participating directly in a new product, I'll care with its commercial interest but keeping the interest of collectors. It is not hard to have good ideas, what is hard is to find companies that accept projects as bold as it was the pangolin and Mojö did it!
