| The Schleich Grizzlies are now a Pizzly and Tibetan blue bear pair, the safari deer doe turned into an elk cow, the Schleich grey wolf turned into a (flat) black, and the New Ray Dalmatians are now grey hounds. My camera sabotaged their paint jobs, so they truly do look better in person. Particularly the Tibetan bears look a lot more shaded etc. Anyways, enjoy. | Oh, many great ideas and surely they look great! Surprised specially with an elk doe, I think it is the first time I see an elk doe on STS. |

| Thank you everyone. Roger, I customed it for the older safari elk bull, the new one will dwarf it whenever I get him. But for now I have a one of a kind elk cow that I still beg manufacturers to make one and a calf to go with her. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | They all turned out very nicely, but I especially like the bears. Whenever you get the time, would you mind sharing some closer pictures of them? |

| I can't wait to see the bears finished. I've considered customing mine for a long time, but I'm sure about that. |

Thank you everyone, I will try to take closer pics of them all soon. Anyways, Miss Jane, they are supposed to be greyhound puppies. The molds for all three (including the mother) were better suited in my opinion to greyhounds rather than Dalmatians, though they aren't perfect sculpts for that breed either. Just the closest to what I would want for greyhounds. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Ok, here are closer pics. They aren't done yet, I need to touch them up now (my dog tried to get at them ) and they need a protective coating etc. There are some mistakes that I need to fix as well, but here ya go. Also they are taken with other figures to compare to. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Thanks for adding these! Glad to see them a little closer. The brindle coat on the bloodhound looks really good. It's good to see the elk cow next to the deer she's derived from - that modeled converted really nicely. And again, I love the bears. It's great to finally see a Tibetan blue bear in model form. That grizzly model works really nicely as a TBB; kind of makes me wish Schleich would bring it back with a new paint-job. |

| Thank you Jonesee and bjarki12. I was really worried about he brindle greyhound, but I think he did turn out nicely. The deer/elk cow was a different color than the red deer version, a lighter tawny brown, in fact its this one: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] this makes it look charming, but it really was a pretty ugly model, and since the family she was supposed to belong to were red I found a better suited doe and decided to make an elk cow out of this one. Again she will be miniscule compared to safari's new elk bull, but its a start. And again about the bears, I loved the project. Still need to alter a few things but I do like the turn out. Since most of the pictures weren't very good and I'm unfamiliar with the species, there may be some inaccuracies still, so any critique is welcome. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | The greyhounds are beautiful! I didnt realise eather the puppy was standing, that makes him very attractive. XD. And the mumma grey is beatiful also - I love the brindle! My only suggestion (if you dont mind) would be that the nose is a bit short/round. Otherwise, fantastic work! |

| I do agree about the nose. The reason I didn't change it is because its mostly hard plastic, and I'm not so sure about re-sculpting it in the sense that I'm not sure clay would adhere very well to the body. I just thought the figure had much too deep of a chest and too long legs to be a Dalmatian. Thank you again for your critique. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Here are some new ones for today. Minor touch ups to New ray dogs (german shepherd into a silver shepherd, adjustments to black lab, and an unknown breed into a chocolate lab) Before: (you can't see them perfectly but you get the idea, also Dalmatian dad and pups now greyhounds in here too) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]After: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I love your doggies. I keep spying that American Toy Terrier in people's collections, where can I get one?! What a wonderful collection. I think also it depends on the clay you use. I currently use air-hardening and it sticks straight onto plastic, no prepping required. What clay are you using? I'd like to try epoxy putty and see if it makes a difference/is harder etc. |

| Thank you. I got my toy terrier in a New Ray dog set (the picture with all of the dogs is full of figures from their two sets available to me). They aren't the greatest figures, they have some major seam lines and some of them are just weird anatomically, but after you smooth the seams and paint them they turn out nicely. And for me I then don't have the guilt of ruining more collectable figures from major brands. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I agree with you on some of the seam lines, and poor anatomy, but I think they are such great models to customise, as they aren't as lovely as the good brands!
Do you know (on the internet?) anywhere I could get any of these dogs?
The only New Ray dogs I have were from Lea.
I would love some for customising.
