PostSubject: Chris’ vintage finds in 2014   Sun Jan 26, 2014 11:05 pm

Here are the animal figures I obtained today at a toy fair held at Donington Park, England. There was also one human figure and a nice tree with a couple of squirrels.

Left to right Britains hippo, mouth open 1315, Britains walrus 1328 post 1975 version, Britains polar bear, walking 1332 post 1976 version, unknown tree and Brtains colt, lying 2121

I just had to get that tree because I had one when I was a child. It brings back many happy memories. All of these were made in Britain.

Thay are beautyful ! You surely know how to spot them  Very Happy

I think threes are wonderful collecto's items, - not only are they great in themselves, they also make the shelves look so much better..and then with a little squirrel Wink

Of course the donkey is my absolute favorite ! But they are all great models in fine shape  cheers

The tree is just beautiful Susanne and for me the surprise find. All the models in the first picture were in boxes with many others so it is amazing that they are in such fantastic condition and the donkey still has paint on the basket it is carrying.

Very nice additions Chris. Beautifull old items and all in very good condition. I also love going to fleemarkets and search in boxen with animals. Sometimes one finds true treasures, like you did now!

Thanks 4U - agree with the tree - certainly captures one in an English field very well and the two squirrels make it very special.

Thanks Anna. The Crescent foal will feature again in another post. True it is a very nice pose but it is inspired by the greatest animated sculpture ever captured in plastic.

Left to right: unknown horse, next two Meccano horses - dark brown and grey from Dinky Toys 979 Horse Box, Corgi Toys race horse from 102 Pony Trailer, lioness and lion Corgi Toys, Corgi Toys Emma Peel laying down, Britains Herald Red Deer (bringing my total to three!), Timpo lioness stretching and finally Britains penguin.

The Corgi Toys figures were, according to Corgi Toys, made in Hong Kong. However, some collectors feel that with the amount still surfacing in Britain they may have been made in Britain and painted by outworkers!
