Antecipation of PAPO Smilodon!

Papo has another surprise for us in 2011:

The mighty Smilodon!

If Papo makes some extinct feline and if they use the skill of the wild cats sculptor... We will see a lot of good things

Time to collect dinos and extinct animals for me?

There is a "Le bonhomme de bois" shop in my town and it seems they have three exclusive models before Christmas

Wow, he looks awesome! Where did you find these pictures Gabe? And where did you get your 2011 models Christophe?

When we see a figure for the first time we stay always impressed!
But this smilodon is cleary a Papo style, very impressive, looks to have a great sculpting work but morphologically is strange, see this skeleton of a smilodon in Wikipedia!
How is possible this legs, body and head?
... and, another smilodon!!! I hope to see something different in Papo range, a elasmotherium, it's impressive too!

Actually, Roger, I don't see much scientific inaccuracies...

I decided I will get that bad boy along with other ice age mammals...

Well, I don't want to raze your happiness, in fact I see a lot of inaccuracies but I don't want to be bore because I'm not an expert! See the size of the back legs and the torax is exaggerated, don’t you think? I’d rather a negative answer, what we want are nice figures!
And the other smilodons I know are very bad, Schleich one is bizarre, nobody knows the colours but the tiger painting of Safari was not a good idea, the CollectA looks great but very similar to an ordinary feline, looks like a panthera!
So, probably this is the best smilodon, let’s see later!
Very very good new is you starting prehistoric figures, mammals from Ice Age is a nice idea, but why not prehistoric animals found in Mongolia, even from different eras!
Ice Age has not dinos! And tell what animals are you thinking Gab? Mammoths, woolly rhinos, etc. 

...macrauchenia, they are from Ice Age in fact, but as you see from this image Christophe is an expert of prehistoric animals, he will help you certainly!

This guy doesn't look so impressed with the smilodon's teeth...

Very very different, these Japanese are not trying to be impressive, certainly nor making an actual animal with long teeth!
Anyway we are talking about some different species from Smilodon genus, this is a Fatalis and some others are Populator, aren't they Christophe!

PAPO already sold three exclusive preview in the "Le bonhomme de bois" shops in France. Last year they did the same for the <FNAC "éveil & jeux" shops.
Yesterday I came dowtown to watch "christmas lightning" with my young daughter. On the road back home, we stopped in the shop and I discover these two litlle newbies

Well, what I really like about the Papo Smilodon is the attention to body muscle and rib cage... also the pose is great too! :)

Eh Sergey! Why are you comparing new Papos with CollectA only?
Those smilodon are completly different, one is trying to be what people expects, other is trying to be what people wants! Confuse... isn't it?
In Collecta the most similar animal I've found to Papo smilodon was this bull
