Atelier Fraxinus custom horses

I open this topic to show you my custom horses and (sometimes) other animals. I work mostly on Schleich and Breyer models.
Here is a Schleich Friesian which I repainted as a seal brown tovero last year :

I also slightly customized and repainted this TWH as a dominant white show horse :

And last but not least, an ASB mare customized by the great Lea Magga which I bought unfinished and which is almost ready for paint. She'll be a dark red chestnut with minimal white.

Yes she was customized by Lea who is also here. The model was originally a Rejoice. I was so delighted when I bought her, I don't have many customs by other artists but this one is definitely a keeper. Yet I still have to practice oils a little bit before I paint her (I usually work with acrylics) as I don't want to mess up her coat.

Oh wow! I never would have guessed she was a Rejoice! I thought maybe Huck, but he's stockier. Really nice work Lea!

Gorgeous! Kelso works very well as a Pegasus

They look so good! The only one I don´t like is the TWH, but just because I don´t like that " discipline", the horse itself is very well done :)

I finally found your thread - and what marvellous models you've got going! The tovero Friesian and dominant white TWH are my favourites - they are really, really well painted. The meticulous finish as well as the accurate, varied hues used are a joy to behold - the fellow artisan in me does a little dance every time I see someone put such deliberate effort in their models. The ASB custom has certainly benefited from your meticulousness, too - she was in a pretty rough shape when she left my hands, as I recall. I'll be looking forward to what becomes of her.

Thank you for your kind words Lea, they go straight to my heart ! I'll let you know how the ASB mare progresses even if I'm not sure I'll have her painted soon as I'm in the midst of a move and have some commissions running. And as for the TWH, dominant white is I'm afraid, my favorite color to paint. I love playing with the various hues and flesh tones.

Are there no more updates off you horses ?

It seems that I forgot to update this topic. I finished a baroque Knabstrupper in January and I am working on a few horses and mules for clients. I will post pics soon :)
