Japanese Natural Monument - Sika Deer (Cervus nippon) in Winter Coat

Hi,

Recently, I saw a stunning figure of this deer in an upright position on ebay. So without hesitation, I bid for it and voila, here it is, on my desk, after making a long trip all the way from Japan. The seller was really kind enough to piece everything together and the only thing I need to do is to stick the antlers on and it is good to go.

The photos were poorly taken at a close proximity.   In fact, the lines are not really visible without observing the figure really up close.

A short note on this deer:

The Sika deer is native to much of East Asia. Used to be seen in Northern Vietnam to the Russian Far east, it has become rather uncommon. It is however, exceptional in Japan, where this species remains abundant. Its name comes from shika (鹿) (which is pronounced in Chinese as "lu") but in Japan, it is known as nihonjika (ニホンジカ) and in Chinese, it is called (日本鹿), meaning "Japan deer".

A beautyful model ! I never stop being mazed how fantastic Kayodo can make such small models   

But it is a Kaiyodo Natural Monument figurine? Is this not a retired serie?  

It is the last CapsuleQmuseum Sika deer. It is a 2014 model and a very beautiful one    Congratulation !
