TM 1994 Hyena quest !

I found a hyena figure in an old roll-top desk at my house. I remember buying it at the Cincinnati Zoo back around 1995 or 96. It is quite a bit larger than my Papo hyena, which is the only hyena figure I have to compare it to. It is a drab brown color and has an almost bear-like appearance. It is standing on all fours and has it's head turned looking to the side. It was made in China. I haven't seen it in any pics here or anywhere lese.

I would love to if I could figure out how to post pics. I'm working on it.

Also, It was made in 1994 and the ridge of it's back is black while the rest of the body is brown.

When we could see a picture, which isn't very hard to do once you know it, then i am pretty sure somebody knows who made this hyena!

I'll get a pic up this weekend. I've had a busy work week and little time to do so. I really want to know what it is I have.

With help from my wife, I figured it out, so without futher delay.....

I put the hyena next to a Schleich wolf and baobab tree to give an idea of scale. So what is it?

Arrrh ! There he is

Wonderful hyena, - now we just need one of the experts to identify him, - is there no mark on him whatsoever ?

Looks like an AAA model

I don't know this model actually, and i can't find back the site which sells still all of them in the case of triple A or AAA.
It looks like a China made model to me anyway...

It is indeed marked as made in China. I'm still not sure of the brand. I'm new at this and still learning all of them.

I heard somewhere that Schleich had made 2 hyenas. I have the most recent one, but does anyone here know what the old one looks like? I know this isn't it, but I'd like to see one.

I just got the one on the right in the mail today! It was still in the bag with cardboard and the tag. Photos don't do the Schleich hyena justice. Up close, it's a very well done figure. I've wanted it forever and now can cross it off my list.

Well, congratulations anyway, they are both from the same mould, only differently painted...
I have to get back both again in my collection, together with the jackal, which isn't seen very much lately...

I was searching through the forum to find more info about my new hyena, and this old thread was the closest I could get :) Mine is by Toy Major (at least it has T.M. inside a circle) and looks very much like the one shown above. Here's mine:

I was wondering if it's trying to represent something else than a spotted hyena, or has it just lost it's spots It was made in 1994.
