Sam and Shelby wolves by Anasta

Hello dear friends!
I already had showed my my sculptures on this forum, but I would like to show you updated pictures, taken with my new Nikon.
I was 14 years old when I started Sam (big wolf with fur) and 15 when I finished Sam and did do Shelby. So, they're already almost old generation of my sculptures, now I'm working on some new sculptures, among which is very interesting and very important for me project.
Both wolves aren't painted (I just can't and never tried it).
Hope you like it without paintwork
Sam:
He is pretty big wolf, about 2-3 times bigger than Schleich.

Shelby:
She is very small: 6 cm in hight, the smallest among Schleich-like wolves (but Safari wolf from 1999-2000 has the same growth).

I also love Shelby, i think it must be really hard to make a snarling wolf, and you did an awesome job!!

It's so nice to hear it from you  But anyway both wolves aren't painted, but I have plans for them. There are just sketches, so they're pretty sloppy.

I can't say that it was very hard to me (but yeah, I've lost about 4 fangs when I tried to put them on her jaw) but it takes a lot of time.
That situation happened with Sam too.

I really like Shelby in particular. If you're not game to paint her maybe you could find someone to do it for you? She deserves to be painted - fabulous detail around the mouth - well done

I'm using Super Sculpey actually, but now I practice other clays too. So, Sam made of russian clay that is similar to Sculpey, but has many colours. Also I started use «velvet clay» but I'll tell about it with more details later.

Very nice. I like the texture with its innumerable tufts. That had to take patience.

Thanks a lot! Yes, you're right about patience: I even discontinued my work in some moments.

Many thanks! Once I tried to count them, but when I counted 42 tufts on his head, I understood that I can't do this. I have big problems with maths XD

I really hope you never paint Sam. It is a very special piece and that colorful Russian clay give it a kind of Russian empire style. It worked in a very expressive way and if you don't repaint, you can keep and treasure it as your first work. The newer wolf is more realistic and a repainting is needed in that case. Thanks for this walk around, it tells a part of your story as a sculptor.

Well, I need an aerograph to paint him, but it's too expensive to me, so I think your «dream» come to real
