| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here are my two Safari ltd jellyfishes. The orange one is clearly a CHRYSAORA FUSCESCENS, but the pink one, which is from the same mold, I'm not sure. A PELAGIA NOCTILUCA, perhaps? |

| They're really nice, is it the 5 inches Mauve Stinger from Wild Safari Sea Life collection? ... and to which collections belongs the sea nettle? Incredible, there are so many jellyfish figures among North American companies! |

Yes, they are 5 inches long! Just look at the dollar coin besides them. The coin is a little less than 3 cm wide. |

| I've found to which collections they belong. The orange is the mauve stinger from Wild Safari Sealife collection, released in 1997. Yes, Safari claims it as a mauve stinger that seems to be the common name to Pelagia noctiluca. It is even registered as a Pelagias jellyfish though, I don't know if it is related with the genus Pelagias or if it is a generic name to jellyfish from family Pelagiidae. I agree the orange looks clearly like a Pacific sea nettle but mauve stingers can also have a color very close to the Pacific sea nettle. I added both as mauve stinger but it can be modified , of course. :) |
