PostSubject: Black Forest Stallion (Schwarzwälder Kaltblut)    Mon Mar 30, 2015 12:58 am

Hello  Smile  let me share my new retired horse who arrived this week.
I always liked this model, so I don't understand why I was waiting too long to get him scratch because he isn't available in Czech stores at all. (I was looking for him in 9 stores and found only three rubbed models.) So I bought him online..for me it was like buying "a pig in a poke" as I couldn't choose one with good paintwork. They sent me one with few rubs...at least he is in better condition than the models in store. He was made in Germany (my first German Schleich) in August 2013.

I like him more from the non-display side. His powerful neck...and eye hidden among forelock:

Here he is with another chestnut draft - old Belgian gelding:

And "Blonde guys"...with Percheron stallion:

And finally, all my three continental heavy horses. I like the Black Forest's ears, the way that they aren't forward as on most horses - they give him gentle and patient expression.
I didn't realized how big is the Percheron before this photo was taken.

Sorry for mobile photos, I don't have any better camera now.

Thank you, Christophe for name suggestion, I was thinking about something more German..as it is German breed and even my model was made there...maybe 'Donnerblitz' (meaning Thunderbolt) or something like that ;-)

I'm glad you like the photo of the 'heavy trinity' ...maybe I take some better pics later..and I hope the Ardennes stallion will join them someday... ;-)

You have excellent taste in horses Wink

I have one too, also Made in Germany. He's such a great model and the lovely dark coat looks great with the blonde hair indeed.

It's a shame that he got a few rubs. I'll recommend [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for shopping retired models. They always have them all new in bags with not rubs - as for all of those I've ordered so far, that is Very Happy (They are pricy perhaps compared to some, but I think their service is worth it).

Oh, thank you very much Carola, such a compliment Wink

I agree, the contrast of dark body and long fair mane is stunning.

Thanks for tip. The eshop, where I bought mine, doesn't send them in original bag, he was just in bubble wrap envelope (and there were few cracks on it)..as I can see MPV send also to Czech republic Wink Well, they are maybe pricy, but rare retired models are often priceless. Very Happy
