Yep, everyone Wink

Today I made my very own, first kitten!
This model is made from white Fimo soft clay.
Representing a 1 week old kitten, still with eyes closed.
Hoping to make a whole litter from around the 4 kittens.

Photos from the kitten, still soft and unpainted.
Tips and critics are welcome!

(Don't know if it has a scale, I just made a kitten XD)

When I made the complete litter, and when they harden, I will paint them.

Hope you like it :3 cat

He/she is wonderful, Karin! Especialy for such scale! cheers
It would really cool to see other ones in future too, especialy when they will be painted Very Happy

I have a question: does this kind of Fimo reminds you plasticine? Or it's like clay?
I need to find an alternative to Super Sculpey — we just haven't Super Sculpey in my country. Of course, it's because I was using it! It means that sellers need to put it out from the russian market!

Hmm, Fimo is a clay I think (don't know what plasticine feels like).
It needs to be baked into an oven to harden.
There a several different kinds of Fimo.
The normal kind, who needs a lot of movement to get soft.
The soft Fimo, who is, like the name says, a lot softer then the normal Fimo and easier to mold.
And there are some specials, Fimo with effects like glitter or translucent when it is baked.
Fimo is widely spread I think, and easier to find then Super Sculpy :)

Yes, I know about it, but I never had try to make something with Fimo. I have it everywhere, but price is CRAZY. I need to pay something about 200 rubles to get 45-50g of Fimo, while I pay 1200 rubles for 454g of Sculpey. Super Sculpey is absolutaly like plasticine (but it hold new form better). I have very big experience with plasticine, that's why Sculpey is my love I love you
I don't believe that you never make something with plasticine. In my country it's everywhere, any people know what is it. Maybe it calls in different way in your country? scratch Well, it doesn't matter.
Thank you anyway Very Happy
I found nice art shop and I need to get some materials from it. So don't worry about order Wink

Yep, I totally agree with the price! For small things, Fimo is good.
But for big sculpting, is is way to expensive!
I don't know how it is called here, maybe I did without even knowing XD
You're welcome ^^
I won't Wink I know it is gonna be fine Very Happy

Where are my glasses? Wink Lovely tiny kitty! cat Very Happy
Karin, I am almost sure you know what is plasticine, this is by far the most used clay by kids here and I am sure it is everywhere. It is a kind of clay that never hardens. So kids and adultes can use and reuse it as many times as they want. I tried to check if Dutch Wikipedia had an article to it but strangely there's no link from English Wikipedia. scratch
Translator says that it is called Boetseerklei. study

Haha, Roger always is ready to help Laughing I forgot to say that plasticine never is hard, so thank you for saying it, dear friend!

Karin, I hope you'll understand what is plasticine now Very Happy

And so where is my lovely Sculpey?! Evil or Very Mad Not funny Crying or Very sad
If you can do so tiny details, Karin, and you're saying that Fimo is good, I trust you. I have one not very expensive variant indeed, hope I'll like it Smile

It doesn't hard indeed. Thank you for the info Roger! Makes it all clear for me now :3

I hope you do Anasta! Very Happy But for the info, does your clay harden as well?
Or do I need to be very, very careful when I handle it when it arrives?

No, no, no, Karin, don't worry Very Happy Now I prefer only harden material; when you start work, it's like plasticine (Fimo is soft too, but I don't know how it feels like, I just HATE natural clay), then, when you process it with high temperature, it became like something between plastic and stone for statuettes.

Oh, I remembered how it calls in English (I mean material for statuettes) — POLYSTONE cheers

Of course, finished work isn't hard as major brands, but not very fragile. Well, you haven't drop it, of course Laughing

By the way, velvet clay (with which I'm making Willhelm) doesn't crash.
