Figures. They didn't appear to be of Safari's quality (although they are definitely Safari's book's pictures!).

I suppose official release info is still yet to come.

It's very OFFICIAL
SWEETY!

What is that supposed to mean? Were the photos posted by Safari? If not, then no, the released photos are not official.

Canada lynx, spoonbill, wallaby, mockingbird are surely in my wish list due to their interest as species.
I'll probably also consider loorikeet, wombat, cassowary, red deer, yes, red deer, it seems very nobble with delicate antlers. I am quite positively surprised! cheers
I agree also with Andy, a uapiti and a red deer in the same range is surely completly unexpectable and Safari featured both species characteristics in a very good way. Very Happy
I also like the standing bears and a bonnethead shark is a fabulous idea. cheers
I was very curious about their new horses, it seems until now I am the first saying that I love their design. Full of action, far from toyish and with a remarkable vintage touch. Very Western like design reseembling somewhat their earlier horses from Safari Farm series but in a better version.
About sharing here pictures, obviously when someone like Sean is asked to not share it until a permission is given, it is the correct decision and the first thing is to respect each company. I did the same with Mojö in previous years, never shared any picture or information until have permission to do it.
But, it is also obvious that when pictures are already posted online somewhere and someone like Takama wants to share it with us, it is also a respectable decision, I believe nobody asked Takama to keep it in secret, mostly knowing it is not a secret anymore.
It was always like that in every fora. Very Happy So I want to thank everyone that share information with us and also to those that keep in touch with companies and reveal everything whenever information is officially presented. cheers

I like the design of the horses too roger. Its very different than before, reminiscent of their old old figures, but more modernized.

Apparently they've changed the horse sculptor. I'm especially interested in the grey Trakehner, looks quite promising :)
And I really like the hippogriff, even though it looks a bit cartoonish Wink

Exactly! Very Happy I am very curious, they're reusing product numbers to these horses, numbers are discontinuous and I've red about a new series... though it has the same series name. Will Safari restart with only 4 horses? scratch

PostSubject: Safari ltd 2016   Sat Nov 14, 2015 3:29 am

I just received a 2016 Safari ltd dealers catalog in the mail today straight from the company. There are more pictures and additional information inside. Finally I was able to see the new sharks. There is a megamouth, bonnethead and a new great white. The lynx is both stunning and gorgeous! It, along with the wombat is at the top of my wish list. I think it is a hairy nosed wombat but I am not sure about the species of the nice wallaby. It looks like the arsinoitherium will remain retired unfortunately. Also the wildlife wonders okapi is retired along with the sable antelope and white tigers so pick those up while you can. Overall a much better year than 2015 for safari ltd. I just wish they would retire a lot more of their older models. For example if there is a new moose family why keep the old moose current?

They probabyl have lots of them still on hand!

But I'm going to say it...3 toobs. That's it.

And the black&white bird is a re-painted Anhinga. More true to the bird's colours.

On the other hand...megamouth shark! Bonnethead shark!

That's it for the fish lovers...

What a disappointment. Sad

I know. I'm trying to find a way to make things better in the next few years...at the very least, getting some input to Safari which might help.

This may not be true in other countries but in the US it is common to see alot of "stag" type deer statues for christmas decor, not just reindeer/caribou. Think the Papo Stag but in statue form basically (although many are just one solid color). Isn't it supposed to be a red deer as well?

So in that way it would make sense I think. Definitely a nice figure from them either way though,he'll go well with the Elk.

The ducking is so sweet looking too, I bet that would be a good seller at Easter.

They are re-releases of the ones that came out in 2006 or so. So yeah, a little smaller than we've become accustomed to with the dinos.

So safari posted another strange blog thing for the holidays. It shows some good photos of their new figures. And based on how this went last time, there should be another video by friday if history repeats.

It's true, they look almost diproportionately large--lust like their prey, the snowshoe hare. Without those feet, they couldn't move around on the snow.

Thanks Bojan, it is funny to see a red deer being used as a reindeer. Laughing santa

HK toys used to make any kind of deer to be used as Christmas ornaments but those were quite generic. Nothing really relevant, just found it funny.
In Portugal we use always reindeer, unless someone is not able of distinguish them from other cervides. Reindeers are used in a symbolic way in regions where Christmas is celebrated in the Winter (Northern hemisphere) as creatures that help Santa Claus distributing all Christmas gifts. Everyone knows it, of course. Most deers have no antlers during Winter, red deers included, though, reindeers keep them all year round and both males and females have it. So, how can a child believe in Santa Claus with flying cervides if they have no antlers during that season. Laughing Wink santa

Well so far, I'm a little disappointed that they are just rereleasing their old prehistoric animals (and some dinos? I'm not as familiar with their older lines but some of those look familiar...). I think that their time would've been better spent at least remaking the mammoths and sloths to do them justice instead of just piggy backing their old molds. I like the red deer mold, but again the painting could've been better. Reed deer to me are more like red-brown elk (they are related after all) and they don't have that much white on their faces and necks. The lynx looks great, again painting though. I like his big feet, typical of winter coat and a nice change from the usual summer version. And the birds look nice, I just hope they nice paintings too unlike the raven the did where they missed the patches between his toes on his stand (likely just due to the stand bit, hopefully these guys wont have that problem). And the calf has nice hair detail. And the kiwi mini will be welcomed by my nieces and nephews since they love those good luck minis. Very Happy

As is normal for Safari, they have not specified to the species.

That's a little disappointing because those are not usual releases. Even the lynx is not really identified. I hope we can assign the right species to these two marsupials. Very Happy

Yeah that's true. But I'm sure that we can identifie them much easier, when we've got better pics :) The wombat for example looks like an southern hairy-nosed wombat and it ould be great to get 2 species from 2 brands Very Happy

Guys, today I posted a question at Safari's page in Facebook:
Hello! When the 2016 catalog will be available?
Their answer:
It is now available!

Have anyone seen it?
