PostSubject: I made a what?   Thu Feb 03, 2011 5:17 pm

This week's customizing project is not a lemur, not a horse, not a dinosaur... (are you amazed yet?)

... it's an artiodactyl, more specifically an antelope, and more specific still:
A zebra duiker! Many thanks to the eminent Darren Naish for showing me this awesome little critter.

Obviously this is a rather quick and sloppy custom, based on not nearly enough reference photos. The horns should probably be more parallel, and the curvature of the back may be somewhat exaggerated. And don't mention the complete lack of prepping - there are seams and rough edges galore!
If anyone knows about these guys and would like to enlighten me, I'd be very grateful. Very Happy

Just for fun, here he is along with the original body I used... those deer are surprisingly versatile!

There appears to be all of one (1) model zebra duiker in existence, so it's a pretty rare beast: http://www.collectorsquest.com/collectible/24222/antelope

A very nice work!!!
Only some suggestions! A smaller orbite and eyes, slightly longer body and a diving pose and it will be almost perfect!
Loved to have your talent!cheers

Nice job Sumo!
It might be not completely correst, but so far it looks not bad at all, and it is indeed a rare model in this collectors-world... Laughing
