I don't think so--it is made of a softer rubbery material, and there is a hole in the snout that appears to have been for a key chain or something at one time.

It is marked with words--PECHERIES and BOULANNAISSES but I don't know if that is meaningful as a brand or something.

It may be silly from me but it is probably an advertising keychain of Pecheries Boulonnaises, a French seafood market. Though, it needs to be Boulonnaises instead of Boulannaisses. Very Happy

You are probably correct Roger--right down to the spelling! I added an 's'!

Pêcheries Boulonnaises indeed. I will try to know if they had different models Wink

I am curious what else that market has done.

However I notice no one has taken a shot at whatever this is:

The fish is impossible for me to identify, can you put it in a certain taxa? Family or something like that?

That is my thinking, but I haven't had a chance to look into it much!

And good to know I got the best of the market keychains! Minus the chain, of course!

I have realized that I don't have a thread on here for when I get new stuff! So it is time to fix that, since I just came back from a trip to Florida and found a few great things (and left behind a lot of terrible things).

First off, I found a ridiculous number of rays--and this doesn't even count my kids' stuffed animals...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The big one is a ray from Sun Wai. The species isn't particularly obvious, but I think it is sort of representative of a Blue Stingray Dasyatis chrysonota. It's a water squirter, but it never will be! Most interesting is that it has not one but two barbs on the tail.

Second, I picked up some new sets of the Club Earth rays set. My origial ones were more pearlescentin colour, but these would be more 'bright'. They are also stickier than the pearl ones, so I'm hoping that they dry out soon.

Finally, although we avoided Sea World, they did have 2 gift shops in the airport--and apparently Sea World has manufactured their own figures! I don't collect marine mammals, which dominated, but they did have what might be the nicest Spotted Eagle Ray I have--and an odd coloured Leopard shark.

I also found a few dinos:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Two of those are Battat re-release dinos, a Ceratosaurus and Amargasaurus. Only available at Target, and since that chain only lasted a few months here in Canada, I had to get them while there! Plus, my son found a 4D puzzle 'raptor' model, which is clearly based on the Ornitholestes from Walking with Dinosaurs.

Will that big ray be on TAI, someday?

It really should be--we don't even have Sun Wai listed!

Well, here you go!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I know that there are a couple other Sun Wai on the Animal Toy forum, but I don't have them. It's kind of an odd company.

And a single, new addition...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Battat Acrocanthosaurus (revised edition)! Every time I go to the US, I go to a Target, and find another of the series! I'll find the T.rex some day.

Very nice addition, this is a beautiful Acrocanthosaurus. I hope you will find the tyrannosaurus and that this new edition stand on its feet.

I hope I will catch the new Diplodocus before my next trip to USA. Laughing

Well, it went without saying that I would get the 4 new Soft Model Ancient fish!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(note--the spae between the two brown fish tnak lid is about 60cm)

Didn't need the giant soft vinyl coelacanth--but these 4 are amazing figures!

The bichir is awesome--and it's nice to have a definite silver arowana.

Overall, this is, and will be, a good year for freshwater fish figures. And fish in general!

I definitely will--and add them to the ancient fishes thread somewhere here!

But I just got them this evening, so it probably won't be until the evening.

A characin of some kind that, agian, is escaping me right now:

And a...something. I honestly have no idea on this one--possibly a deep-sea fish of some kind. It's more of a solid plastic than the others, like a Marx figure.

And, as a surprise, a neat little plastic hyena (of a brand I have to determine):

Any IDs are welcome, since PRIOR doesn't use name markings. And I have spares of some, so they may need new homes!

Do you have identify all fishes? :)

That is correct--I stick mostly to deep sea (sometimes), pelagic, chondrichthyans, and freshwater; generally more unusual fishes. Plus, whatever else catches my eye!

Do you need some? I have lots of spares, etc. Just haven't taken the time to work it out as a lot on my sales thread.

Thank you, is it right again that reef fishes are not your thing?

That is correct--I stick mostly to deep sea (sometimes), pelagic, chondrichthyans, and freshwater; generally more unusual fishes. Plus, whatever else catches my eye!

Do you need some? I have lots of spares, etc. Just haven't taken the time to work it out as a lot on my sales thread.

Oh yes, i prefer reef and other saltwater fishes :)

I will pm you later with what I have, and we can work something out!

A question (because i found them on ebay as lot but i am only interested in one)- is the Lutjanus kasmira for sale. And the Holacanthus ciiaris?

They would be, yes! Along with a lot of the rest, to be honest.

Just received! 5 out of the 6 new Kaiyodo Deep-Sea aquarium models!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I wasn't too concerned about getting the two squid, although the lot I purchased had the vampire squid.

More important was the 4 fish!

Goblin shark--incredibly detailed, even if they have been done before:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Giant oarfish--again, it has been done many times, but this one is really, really nice:

The vampire squid (again, not the first time for this species):
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now the two more unusual ones!

I was pleasantly surprised by the 'Green Husa monkfish', a figure I wasn't really persuing, but am glad to have gotten:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

For the record, the only figure that is not actually attached to the base.

And the one that, seriously, I was soooo happy to see made as a figure! A long-snouted lancetfish! So cool-looking! Look at those teeth!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Once again, we have a winning set from kaiyodo. I will probably track down the 6th, a colossal squid, a some point. But there are other things to get first!

I really love all of them, starting with this goblin, a remarkable shark species to the fangs of that scaleless lizard.

I'm pretty happy to have them! Of the many gobln shark figures that I have, this is easily one of the best.

And there are a lot--almost always in a capsule-figure size range. Takara has done 2, Colorata has made one, and there is an early Kaiyodo Deep-Sea figure. Plus, a PV model and a tiny one from a K&M ball. And there are probably others, mainly Japanese (I don't know if there is a larger PV figure)

Really, you'd almost expect more of them! They are such unique fish.

I haven't really had much to put up for a while.

I did, however, recently receive a few new ones from Japan, courtesy of Brett!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Three plecos from Epoch (gold dust, albino and red-eye panaque); I actually ended up wtih two gold-dust plecos.

And, the Lepidotes that was included with the Dino Expo 2016 Real Spinosaurus. Didn't get the dinosaur, happy to have the fish!

I also recently got the Schleich Dunkleosteus. I still like the Safari better, but it's pretty good.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Let me know if the photos don't work...I've had to move servers.

And soon, I will add the Lepidotes to the Ancient Fishes thread. It's not like there are a lot to work with!

Apparently Google photos is completely useless now.

But I can share a link to the photos.

Plecos:

Dunkleosteus:

At least until I can find a better way.

Sean, I edited your original post using pictures directly from Google without resizing them. I just copied the picture address and used the button insert image that you can find while entereing/editing a post on forum. Very Happy
Congratulations for your new figures and remember that STS and ATF are compatible so you can copy directly from a forum to the other. Very Happy

Thanks Roger.

I didn't think of that method, although I think I am missing a step somewhere. Google has made things unnecessarily difficult these days.

FOLLOW UP--I still can't quite figure out where you got the working address! PM me the details please!

Thanks. And yes, they are very little figures, maybe 5cm.

Congrats on your new finds.
The Dunkleosteus at first sight is nice, but then there is Metallic Terminator head, raptor lizard skin, scutes, comb-like fins,... scratch
There is too much going on for me to make it look....balanced?
I guess I like the Safari ltd. one better too, heh.
