Please watch this space for what I feel is the greatest animated sculpture ever captured in plastic.

Plus I will be including poses that were inspired by it.

The Herald Scratching Colt was released in June 1956 and deleted from the Britains Farm range at the end of 1960. This makes it one of the shortest duration issues in this range.

Really a bold sculpt! I think LeeAnn can show the stablemate foal here too?

One thing about this sculpt Roger is that it stands up every time and stays up. Truly remarkable.

It's cool...but I suppose I'd have to be a horse collector or Britains collector to really appreciate it...not my usual thing!

Roger, here's the Breyer G2 Scratching Foal sculpted by Sarah Rose. (Yes I know it says IDYB but it's my photo I don't have the version without the copyright saved here, it seems.)



That one in particular is from one of the 2015 mystery foal sets.

What happened to this foal? Very unusual pose Chris, it reminds me a small marking dog Kosta showed us in 2015.

I never was able to find this Herald model, actually i didn't know where my Hong-Kong copy's was molded from untill some years ago.
Because it was dis-continued, i guess the mold was available for those Asian copiers...

That is a beauuutyful, elegant and very detailed little model indeed

Papo also made some scratching foals, but not nearly as finely sculpted as the one from Britains

The foal is great, it came in black and brown too, there is Hong-Kong copies.

All the Herald/Britains farm animals are awesome.

Especially the scratching rabbit, the turkeys, the four lambs and the four cats,

But it's the Jersey cows I love most...

Christophe - yes an unusual pose but captures what real foals do as evidenced with lots of images on the net.

Neat models Willy but whether a pose is current or obsolete it doesn’t stop copies being made.

BTW I didn’t know about this pose either until the mid 1980’s as it was deleted before I started receiving Britains catalogues from 1965.
