Yes, those Siamese cats can be talking a lot to you indeed, haha. cat
I love that they are often crossed-eyed, that gives them something special i think...
Are they looking at you, or not, that is the question! Rolling Eyes question

Unfortunately that has been bred out of them, - and so has the bend on the tail that they used to have in the old days. They must not either have dark areas on their tummys anymore, - and they are breeding the ears larger and larger, - hmmm, maybe I ma consevative, but one can "improve" a breed too mych in my opinion Neutral

Oh yes, Mikke LOVES boxes Very Happy

Kristie, I can`t help telling you how we got her Wink
It was a cold, storming and rainy day, - but, yes, it was Shocked
A neigbour called and said a tourist had found a very tiny kitten in the forest . As she was on bycycle she couldn`t take it with her.
The neigbour has 8 (eight) huge malamutes, so the kitten would not survive there for long, - I ran like crazy to get the kitten, but as we had already 3 cats, I called a resuce centre to hear if they would find another home for her.
They said they colud not deal with so little a kitten (she could not eat without help) and were willing to put her to sleep, - do I need to say that then we had 4 cats ?

But Mikke got aggressive as she becme bigger. The vet said she needed another kitten to give her better manners.
That was how we got the first Siamese, Johanne.
Then the nice man we got Johanne from, called and said he had Johannes sister, Mummy.
The poor thing was so shy, he would never sell her to strangers, - he would give her to me, - so then we had 6 cats cheers

Yes Kristie, I have a few other Very Happy
Here are my 3 Iclandic HORSES, and the spotted pony very conveniently called Spotty :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Here is a blog, one of my friends made about my Saluki, Fidda.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It is about Fidda, because my friend is interested in gazehounds, but you can see the others, too.
Fidda i 8 months old and eats furniture, shoes, wallpaper....
Siggi is 5 years. He is a Schnauzer/Ícelandic sheepdog and eats everything, but sticks to food Laughing
Futte is my darling. She is 6 years old Whippet and probably the most spoiled dog in Denmark. She only eats the best food, preferably steaks, cheese or shrimps Wink

And then my car has to sleep in the barn, because the grage is transferred to an aviary for my 21 canaries.

Wow 21 canaries! We had two in the kitchen when I was little, the male would sing too. My mum and sister went into the pet shop recently and there was a garish bright orange canary - the feathers looked dyed, but anyway they said it was singing it's little heart out! So cute.

Some time ago we were shown some Starlux figueres.
Ohh, they are fantastic, I just had to look at the French Ebay even if it is more than 40 years since I had French in School farao

Gosh, they are expensive, but I got some cheers

Ta-daaaaa :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Especially the cheeta and the tiny little gazelle are SO cute. Does anybody know what species it is ?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And as you know, it is very important to buy more in order to save money Shocked
So I got a tiny little gazelle more, and a VERY angry gnu, both fro Britains :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And these were SO irresistable, also from Britains :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This one was called a clairet, - I thought that was some kind of wine Suspect
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This little fox has no marking. It is soft material like Britains. Does anyone know the brand ???

Congratulation Susanne  cheers

You have very good things in your hand  Cool

The gazelle is supposed to be an impala. Not absolutely accurate but very very fine. Having one in hand, you can notice how thin are the legs, ears and horns.

I'm very happy for you.

Congratulation for your Clairet's leopard from the 1950's. This model was copied by the Us MARX co. and the english WENDAL. You have the original made by François Clairet himself. This brand is still the one I prefer, it is a love affair  I love you

Some canary food has additives that can cause the feathers to be a different color like the orange one, but correct me if I am wrong Susanne, don't they have to go through the molt for the feathers to change?
Canaries are lovely and sound lovely. I did own one as a teenager, got it for Christmas from my folks with a big cage (not as nice a one as Willy's though). There was so much room I decided the canary needed a friend and got another, but they were both males and when one started to sing so did the other and then they attacked Mad each other...the store took the second one back. Crying or Very sad

My girlfriend's grandmother had a canary that she loved and she called her son one evening to come over because it wasn't feeling well and something was wrong. He arrived and it was on the bottom of the cage not moving. He asked her what she had done for it and she said she had given it a couple drops of brandy but only as it lay on the floor of the cage. He reached inside the cage...went to pick up the canary that fluttered a little, and there was an tiny egg on the floor of the cage under the bird! affraid

It ended up being a girl bird (obviously) and was not moving because it was sitting on the egg...my friends Dad told his mother (grandma) your bird is fine, but now it is drunk. drunken It's going to have quite a headache in the morning

lol!

And that is the truth!

Ok then, everybody its own way, isn't it? Rolling Eyes

In official Dutch it is: Dankuwel.
That is the very nice and respectfull way, or dankjewel, for a little bit less respect or when you know someone a little bit better.
Or very common it is bedankt, or thank you very much can be héél erg bedankt!
So now you know 4 versions in Dutch to say thank you! Laughing

Fantastic story Sue! That's so funny she gave it brandy to revive it, I can imagine my Grandad doing that! Laughing Laughing

Yes, wonderful story Very Happy Laughing

Old people sometimes have a special way with birds.
My grandmother had a friend, mrs. Jensen.
Mrs Jensen`s grandchildren had given her a canarie, but they thought it was a budgie Rolling Eyes .
So mrs Jensen thought she could teach it to speak !
Of course a canarie can`t "speak", but I did not believe my own eyes when I saw the little, yellow bird sitting on her finger and making small whistling sounds when she spoke to it !!!!!!!
She must have spent hundreds of hours with the birdie !

And, yes, Sue. The food that makes canaries intensely red or orange only works if they are fed it while they are changing their feathers. It is bad for them, it ruins their liver : Suspect
Giving them natural green plants, which they love, will also make them more intense in their colour, and it is very good for them. Very Happy
But it wil never make them unnaturally red like the artificial stuff does. And who cares Wink
