PostSubject: Cheetah confusion   Cheetah confusion EmptyWed Feb 09, 2011 8:48 pm

Could someone please take a picture of the current female cheetah next to the retired one (#14143)? I thought mine was the new one, but apparently it's her older, indeterminately gendered friend. Are these two models as ridiculously similar as they appear?

Awesome, thanks! Mine's definitely the old one, then, though mine has a different paintjob from yours. The overall shade is more like the current mold, while the detail is more like the middle one. Love those little whisker dots! Very Happy

Thanks for those pictures Susanne, I can't believe how many variations there are, my favourite is the old version on the far left, if it only had the new cheetah's colouring it would be perfect I think and maybe some more fur texture (and some whisker dots Laughing!) . The new version, although I love it, it's head is a little on the big side.

I understand what you mean Harriet, but ok, that is the charm of older models and their variations... Rolling Eyes
There is always room for improvement.
I prefer a model as it is or was, and when i have a spare, then you can turn them into a special version like my king-cheetah, or just give it a normal re-paint... Very Happy

Yes, Willy, I too like having the original model - I wouldn't dream of repainting my Schleich unless I had doubles. Very Happy
