Hi! Here are a few insects that I have that seem to be from the same set. They all are made with two pieces (top and bottom) that are snapped together. These insects are all marked "1979, Made in China". Does anyone know what brand made them, please?

Is there a S.H. underneath the insects? I found a beetle that also has red eyes and looks similar in quality.
Mine has the letters S.H.
Could it be this brand: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Maybe you are seeing a mark very common in toy animal figures and not a brand mark. Scheck [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I'm not sure CE is a brand. It's a mark brands can put on their products, not necesseraliy being animal figurines.

Google wrote:
By affixing the CE marking to a product, a manufacturer declares that the product meets all the legal requirements for CE marking and can be sold throughout the EEA. This also applies to products made in other countries that are sold in the EEA.

So, I have had these figures, but for the life of me I do not know where they are. They are not in my current collection inventory for some reason. Too bad I liked them (need to hunt them down).

I do not think my versions ever had a manufacturer and they are sold generically. They are clearly copied and rebranded but I do not know the original source.

In addition to your lucanid (probably Lucanus), carabid (too generic), and melolonthine scarab (again, too generic), there was also a chrysomelid beetle. They are sometimes sold together with a large Allimyrina dichotoma, which is solid PVC and not a hard shell on top of a rubbery base like these.

I see. That probably means I'll never know for sure what exact brand made them... It's sad, because I would have liked to put them on Toy Animal Info.

These are now on TAI, you can find them under [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] study If we ever find what they are exactly, once they are copyrighted 1979, it could be all renamed. Very Happy

Thank you! Yet I may have preferred putting them there myself... well, at least, I know where to put the other Made in China models that I have.

I also prefer when the author of the pictures is the direct editor on their respective pages. Although I am always ready to upload other's pictures when needed. Next time I will take it in consideration before uploading one of your pictures. Very Happy
