Some new Clairet in my collection

About the panther, this art deco style model is so awesome that the US Marx company copied it in the 1960's and so did the British Wendal

I had some clairets in to today, but my Austrich is a little bit different, i am not sure which brand he is.
When i look at the site of Richard Lewis, the one he has, looks like mine, although hard to see in that pic he has there...
I am afraid that your human ancestor is just a primitive gorilla, they didn't make human figurines from the pre-historic so far as i know...
But these weird gorilla's were quit common in those days...

About your ostrich, I'm quite sure it is not a Clairet but which brand is stilll a mystery for me. The Clairet ostrich is the one Torben have.

About the Richard lewis site, you know I respect a lot this fabulous collector who is the great specialist of the hollowcast figures but the Clairet page is full of mistake and can't be a reference for a collector. if you look carefully on those pics, you will se some Starlux and even some Hausser elastolin.
the main problem with Clairet is, like Blancherie Frères, the lack of catalogue.
A lot of models were pasted or "inspired" other companies, French or international. Your ostrich is maybe in this gategory I guess.
About the weird gorillas, it is also not sure because, at least in France, the human prehistory subject was very "alived" in the 1950's, there was a lot of ornated caves dicoveries and people talked a lot about the famous "Missing link". About gorillas, they were already in zoo and some like the Lineol were absolutely accurate.

The Clairet looks great

Of course, if you had an extra spotted figure, it would be cool to see it painted with new accurate & detailed spots
as well as the face repainted!

I know that Lewis makes many mistakes on his site, i saw that before.
The austrich is the same brittle plastic as Starlux and clairet, so i suspect a French maker anyway...
And maybe the gorilla-type model is from the same unknown maker, who knows, time to find out a little bit more about them!
At least my sitting tiger is Clairet...

By the way, i probably found a very big lot of reislers, which could make you happy to, just wait and see...

You have the choice between eating and drinking or collecting

I prefer collecting anyway, as i can go without food for 3 weeks anyway, haha... (even without losing to much weight).
