It contained my long wished for Mojö Spanish bull! Costa knew about my wish to own this great figurine so he sent me one as a gift!!
Thank you so much Costa!!
But the bull didn't come alone, he brought some cute companions along! Very Happy

Yes my friends it is a life-size great dane and she is sitting in front of our window at home! Sorry my description above was a bit confusing, I saw this ad somewhere and the picture shows the figurine already at our home! cheers Absolutely insane... Laughing
Sadly the doggy had a pretty bad smell like old smoke with cat pee and somewhat so I washed it outside on our patio. The detergents I use might have been a bit too strong, the paint came off on some parts. Crying or Very sad  But luckily a black dane is easily repaired. And the eyes need a complete overhaul, they are not very pretty. Will show some pictures when this is done if you are interested... drunken

You do the most beautiful repaints on the tiniest figures and this one scares you off! Laughing

You'll do just fine.
You know what you are capable of.
(Just practice on something else first, if you don't trust yourself.)
It is a beautiful beautiful dog. I love it. It is so real. I love you

Finally I repainted the eyes of my great dane. It is a slight improvement but I am not very satisfied with them. Eyes of dogs are somewhat hard to catch. Don't ask how much reference pics I printed but still.. Rolling Eyes The pupils got too large and overall the eyes got too dark. But with lighter colors the dog war somewhat staring at me...  What do you think?

She is like a real dog Shocked

You did a fantastic job there Very Happy
Perhaps the colour is a little too uniform, - and the line between the iris and the pupil a little too sharp ? But that is only visible when you are very close to it, - I think it is beautyful drunken

And she got a beautyful, new learther collar too Very Happy

I think the eyes look good.  sunny
Only reason I can think of why you are doubting yourself is because,
(to me,) the whole posture of the dog is in a alert state.
The ears a little upwards, mouth closed, sitting up straight.
It clearly sees something outside and he/she is checking it out.
You may think the eyes you painted look too harsh, but that's because of the way the dog is sculpted. There is nothing you can do about that.

Try this:
Imagine this same dog with the eyes you painted....
but now with its mouth open and tongue out, ears back.
Relaxed. Just sitting there and chillin'. Life is good.

The eyes you painted would work, right? sunny

You are such a big help and relief! :) Thanks to both of you Susanne and Bloodrayne!  I love you

I really tried to give the brown part of the eyes some nuances but they seem to "disappear" as I went darker. When I finally put the gloss finish on top it turned even darker. Hmmm.... Neutral
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: you are right! What a great way to explain it! Thank you!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: there is nothing you don't notice right? Laughing  The collar is from our deceased dog. Still miss him.. Crying or Very sad
