| What species is the new 2016 wallaby? I just got it at a zoo yesterday but have no idea what species it is. _________________ LOGAN

| Well, the safari Ltd website just says Macropus: under "Did you know?" "Present Status The Rufous Hare Wallaby (L agorchestes hirsutus ) is vulnerable. Parma Wallaby (Macropus parma) is listed as Near Threatened, as is the Brush Tailed Rock Wallaby (Petrogale penicillata) and the Yellow footed Rock Wallaby (Petrogale xanthopus). The Banded Hare Wallaby (Lagostrophus fasciatus) is endangered, as is the Bridled Nailtail Wallaby (Onychogalea fraenata), and the Proserpine Rock Wallaby (Petrogale persephone). The Eastern Hare wallaby (Lagorchestes leporides) is extinct, with the last known specimen collected in 1890. The Crescent Nailtail Wallaby (Onychogalea lunata) is also extinct, possibly since the 1950's. In all cases, the major threats were from introduced species that preyed on the wallabies or altered their environments." - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]If it's an extant one, it's probably one of those Subgenus Notamacropus, so take your pick for what works best for you? -Agile wallaby, Macropus agilis -Black-striped wallaby, Macropus dorsalis -Tammar wallaby, Macropus eugenii -Western brush wallaby, Macropus irma -Parma wallaby: Macropus parma (rediscovered, thought extinct for 100 years) -Whiptail wallaby: Macropus parryi -Red-necked (Bennet's) wallaby: Macropus rufogriseus Not an expert on these. Someone else may have a better suggestion. _________________ Laura

| I discussed it via e-mail with another forum member and our perception is the same as Laura's. Read below our two closest guesses: - agile wallaby, Macropodus agilis, with ears edged in black and a dark stripe between the ears, although it does not look like the tip of the tail is black - I think markings also fit nicely Macropus rufogriseus, the red-necked wallaby. It has the black nose, dark facial strip, white upperlips, dark hands and dark paw tips, maybe the general color is not as grizzled. It would be great to know also what you and other members think about it. |

Now i had the chance of checking your previous posts amd I noticed that you had informed us before about the wallaby species as well as about the wonbat. We must use that useful info om Toy Animal wiki. Your brilliantly sculpted figures are carefully developed to the species level amd we cannot waste it. Both figures are im my collection amd I am a proud owner of them. You are bringing a new step of diversity to the company amd I hope your cooperatiom will continue for a long time. Your work with Wild Life Wonders is also widely appreciated om forum. I know you cannot reply to our questions but knowing the correct species of your figures is an important information tat surely have no negative consequences to your job, actually it enriches your work amd company's range. |

Hi Roger, yes that is the kind of information I can provide. I just can't reveal upcoming pieces as you know. I hadn't been on here for a while but checked in today and saw the question. Thank you for your comments as well, one of the reasons I don't chime in too much is I don't want to look like I am fishing for compliments. I just like to see what people think of our pieces the compliments are appreciated plus I do listen to constructive criticism and suggestions. I am also happy to provide the information like this when I can. |

You are correct I have not done any horses (except Zebras). Off to run some errands now then back to work. |
