Wonderful that there is a new company "MOJO" now there is even more competition to get your $ so there needs to be quality figures, correct sizes between the available figures too. I'd hate for the lion to be the same size as the elephant. They need to look right together. Rolling Eyes

What is a MOJO? scratch

American Heritage Dictionary definition of MOJO ~
1. A magic charm or spell
2. An amulet, often a small flannel bag containing one or more magic items worn by adherents of hoodoo or voodoo.
3.Personal magnetism; charm.

Well Roger, the figures you have posted pictures of have alot going for them...they are charming (#1), I love you
I don't think #2 is appropriate definition for them, No and #3 ??? that says more about the new moderator for MOJO Wink ~ :)

I do like the looks of the beaver...but he is missing his stick to chew on...so it looks like they are making just the figures and not the little extras like Safari has with the Water buffalo with the grass in the mouth and the birds on it's back...

Maybe MOJO will make the next Musk Ox baby?

Oh, when growing up we had Mojos which were a white toffee type candy that tasted like Anise (black licorice flavor) 2 for 1 penny...yum.

Hi Roger, Thank You again for giving me thier email. I wrote to them and get very kind answer. Although I did not get the proposal of free figures it was still very nice to talk to figure maker and get nice answer. He told me he is now thinking about the future direction so keep mailing with him and maybe we will see new nice species/poses next year! Maybe we can create poll about it on our forum? (somebody said that before me, am I right?! affraid )

As one of the last, i want to give some comments on these models Mojo made...
On average, they look quit good.
But when they are starting from scrap, i would like to see those figurines in scale to eachother.
this would mean a bigger giraffe, without the light stripe on her back, and the spots are to square cornered, strange that nobody noticed that before in the answers.
The spots on the hyena should be softer, and not so pointed out, or am i to critical here... Laughing
The beaver looks ok to me, but a bit to big in compare to the other animals.
The smilodon, black panther and bison are ok, although the last one is to small to.... Rolling Eyes

Thanks Willy for your comments! cheers
You are right about the giraffe and these flaws were already reported for some of our friends even you are not reading it here! :)
About the spots of the hyena try to see the variations between Northern and Southern species and you will find pointy spots like these! Are not reported subspecies of spotted hyenas but the spots are different in some populations! :)
Again the giraffe, is really small for a 1:20 scale... but unfortunately for some friends of us, Mojo is like Schleich... no scale but this is not a problem for you certainly! I think Willy that you are the responsible for make people think that Schleich figures are in a 1:20 scale, we can see it in your comments in CQ! Laughing tongue
This Mojo giraffe has the same size of Schleich giraffe, and even Papo and CollectA much more larger are small for this ghost scale! Wink
The beaver is quite smaller than the Papo one but you already know that small figures are made in larger scales. Fortunately there are some nice toobs with smaller species nice for dioramas! :)
Very soon I will put more pictures of Mojo figures and loved to have your help again! Suspect cheers Very Happy

No problem Rogerio, haha... Wink
Yes, i said that the Schleich giraffes were 1:20 in scale on CQ indeed, as i had no feeling to measure them up exactly, to say what the real scale is indeed, my fault... Embarassed
But i think, we all know, like in their elephants...
Again on the spots of the giraffes, the reticulated giraffe has quit cornered spots, but the spost are a kind of blurry on the outside trims...
Anyway, it is time i get some Mojo's in my hands to see how they are looking in the real... Rolling Eyes Laughing cheers

Wink Loved see thiner legs but maybe safety rules again!
Another perspective of this gentle lady!

yeah... giraffe´s tails are not good. Giraffe from Britains got it all... perfect tail with amazing hair. And also Schleich is trying to make better a better tail :)
And talking about coloring of this giraffe... i don´t like those sharp edges of her spots. And they are also too regular. They shouldn´t be in in regular rows so much...

So the money I will be saving from not spending on Mojo figures, since I'm so good hearted and generous, I have decided instead I will spend that money on eye glasses(pending on the results of an opthomologist's vision screening test) for collectors who cannot see the sub par quality of Mojo.

I should ignore this sad commentary but rather accept it as a kid joke. And I love kids! tongue
In that respect I say you're right because I have the bad habit of seeing the two sides of life, good and bad.
This marks the difference between who is happy and full of humor and who spends his time complaining because he wants to drink milk and do not have who opens him the package. Sad
Instead of complaining in vain I've had the opportunity to report the mark concerning the pattern of the giraffe and this has been received and will be corrected.
In fact, this has been discussed here in the forum but microscopes give us a very accurate vision but it not let us see what is going on around. Rolling Eyes

Of course I tried the same with the giraffes of Papo and Safari, poor figures, but here I am exactly in the same point than you, complaining in vain. cheers

Hey!!! What is going on here??? Shocked
My first comment was much more harsh and harder then what i put here now, but i erased it, wise a i can be... Laughing
Lets respect eachothers opinion guys! cheers
I know, somebody from a neutral side, can look at models quit harsh, as i am doing that mostly myself... Shocked
Somebody who is more into the business of a company will take some comments more personally, but he doesn't have to, as it is not his company...
But both thoughts and comments are well regarded, and taken into considery, so don't attack eachother personal please, ok?! Cool

Gazella granti robertsi

Named for F. Russel Roberts, who collected the specimens from which the race was described.

DESCRIPTION Similar to the southern Grant gazelle, except that the male's horns are not lyrate, but bend sharply outward at a point about one-third of their length from the base, so that the tips are very far apart, and the tips then bend either downward or backward. Females have normal horns. Flank bands in females are either absent or very faint.

In short - Grant's gazelle with horns like those described is Robert's Wink

I do not agree with you. The name "Roberts gazelle" is very rarely used in natural programs, textbooks and the same computer, only subspecies of Grant's gazelle. Anyway, a picture of gazelle Grant's (literally) and not Robert's gazelle, because if the picture is taken in the plain Serengti in Tanzania, it is not possible that it was a subspecies of Robert's gazelle, because he is more to the north of Africa, I mean northern Kenya and Ethiopia .

It's very strange, because subspecies "Gazella Grantia Roberts" does not occur in the plain of the Serengeti in Tanzania, and the picture certainly is there done, I'm certainly not sure.
For me Isteni no such thing as "Roberts gazelle" in the list of species, species are Grant's gazelle, and end, and Robert's is the only subspecies of .......

"DISTRIBUTION: In Tanzania, from Mwanza on Lake Victoria to the Serengeti Plains; and northward to the Loita Plains in Kenya.

Males with robertsi-type horns are often found in the same area with others that have typical granti-type horns, and individual animals may exhibit considerable variation in horn configuration. It is also possible to find heads with one robertsi horn and one granti horn."
So, yes - Robert's gazelle IS a variation of Grant's gazelle, a Subspecie if you want to call it like that, but inevitabely it does exist whether you like it or not. Just look at the horns...

I don't care at all, the fact remains that at least one of the animals in my picture is Robert's gazelle

Well, it´s my first time in this topic, and I have to say that I am very satisfied with my small Mojo collection: the smilodon and the mammoth. The color is very real, and the smilodon is the most beautiful of all the brands. In my wishlist, for the next month, I put the animals from Africa, and the Anna´s horses too. I saw the little t-rex on facebook, and I love it so much, he is very cute, and I´m crazy waiting for it too! Well, I´m very surprised with this new and young brand, and is a pleasure to start a new collection with their figures.
