Science and Nature wants our suggestions to a future figure to be included in their Animals of Australia range. cheers
So, each member can choose a maximum of 3 extant Australian animals and the most popular animals will enter in a final poll to determine the winner. 13th January is the last day for your choices and at 14th we'll start a poll with the most popular.
You can find all figures already released at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] just check all collections.
Notice also that a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] are planned to be included soon in Science and Nature range.
There are several websites you can find about Australian animals, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] a link to Australian fauna at Wikipedia. study
Your participation is important, stronger we are, more chances we have of having future initiatives like these. Thanks! Very Happy

Thanks also to Science and Nature that is taking our opinions in consideration. Very Happy

That´s easy for me Very Happy I visited last year the country, first of all cause I´m fascinated by it. Geography, climate and vegetation - in Australia you find everything. And yeah, the country has such an incredible fauna. Even without visiting zoos and animal parks, you have in Australia the possibility to meet a lot of different animals.

In Queensland very popular and living already in cities: the australian bush-turkey. This animal is found everywhere in Queensland and so, I´m surprised that there isn´t a figure yet.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

As science and nature already released popular animals like glider or possums and with soutland replicas releasing for example a lumholtz-tree-kangaroo, I think another figure I haven´t seen yet (despite an unknown china model) would be a long-beaked echidna.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The third choice is a little difficulter, cause we only have 3 choices^^ There are lot of interesting possibilities, cause there are lot of different kangaroos, possums or cockatoo spezies. So I choosed a bird, that already exists as an old figure, but that I was lucky enough to see in australian rainforest: the australian lyrebird.

My vote:
1) Thylacine (as I am not satisfied with Mojo sloppy-painted one and too big-headed Southern Replicas one)
2) Bush turkey (I have the Yowie but I need more realistic figurine)
3) Lyrebird (I have HK one but this is only plastic uralte Masse Figure remake...)

Some good Australian animals are coming out now from other brands so Science and Nature could up its game if it wants to compete. Having said that, Australia has some spectacular birds - the Palm Cockatoo, the Brolga, and the Black Swan are three potential candidates; if lizards - the Perentie, Lace Monitor, and Carpet Python. Animals - Eastern Grey Kangaroo, Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat (critically endangered), and the super-cute Numbat. If you want obscure but cute - then the Bilby, Woylie and the Eastern Barred Bandicoot.

Lot of your animals that you listed are already done by S&N as the black swan, grey Kangaroo, numbat, bilbie or bandicoot. There isnt´t a palm cockatoo yet, but a red-tailed black cockatoo :)

Spotted Cuscus
Sugar Glider
Zebra finch, I would suggest some other mutation(not the wild color), it would be easier and cheaper to make... For example, Chestnut flanked white

But all colors came from the wild color, it is natural mutation, not a mix with other specie

I'll count all of them as votes to zebra finch., so, if nobody changes it, it has 4 votes until now. The same for generic choices, as all of these in Varanus, it will go to the most voted Varanus species as it is happening with the Perentie. bounce bounce More votes please and thanks to all that voted already. Very Happy

Now we are just suggesting, I should use this word instead of voting. In this stage, we will determine which animals have more suggestions.
Those more suggested, will later enter in a poll, in another topic, starting from zero. That poll will determine the winner and that animal will be released by Science and Nature. Obviously, Science and Nature may take some of the ideas here presented to some of future releases or not. I recall that when in 2011 we did something similar with Mojö Fun, the company ended releasing half of the figures that entered the top 10: giant sable, gaur, clouded leopard, honey badger and sunbear. Very Happy

The only preference that was mentioned is that it should be an animal of Australia. I don't know if it has to be native or not so your suggestion for a water buffalo will be considered. :)
Interesting, 3 of the top 5 until now are birds! study :)

Jacana and Zebra finch are both good choices, very underrepresented.

But I have to say that a zebra mantis shrimp would be my first choice.

That's nice! I don't own any S&N figurines, but I like that they are open for our suggestions. But do I understand it right, we can choose Australian AND New Guinean species? If so my list would be:

A Tree kangaroo, I know that Southlands will release one very soon but I want an other species, my favourite would be a Hunon:

Any of the Long-beaked echidna species:

And an Black-necked stork:

And if we just can choose Australian species:
(With the stork)
A Lemuroid ringtail possum:

And a lyrebird Very Happy

Julodimorpha bakewelli (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julodimorpha_bakewelli).

This beetle's mating behavior forced a beer company to change the shape of its bottles! :)

Well, I would like a Bornean banteng (Bos javanicus lowi), a giant toad (Rhinella marina) and a powerful boobook owl (Ninox strenua). Hope the Bornean banteng and the other two animals could be released this year!

Don't worry, the Bornean banteng was introduced to Australia, like the cane toad, and the boobook owl is endemic. Don't worry.
