PostSubject: Schleich figures 90 and 00 decade   Thu Apr 20, 2017 2:16 pm

Hello, I only now registered to the forum to try and inform myself.
I have a little over 100 schleich figurines stored up, and I really don't do anything with them now, so I might sell them.
Most of them are retired and from the 90's and 00's.

I just would like to have an idea of how much I could expect to get from a typical size figure and a small one.
I'm not expecting to get alot from them, but if I have anything that's rare I would like to know as well.

Here's a picture of the lot
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Since I know nothing about the hobby, what's considered good and bad shape for a figurine?
If I asked 4€ for the bigger ones would it be too much or a steal?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, welcome to the forum! I'm not specialist about older Schleichs but I think the pedigree cats are quite hard to find. Can you post another photo with just the domestic cats? I may be interested in buying them if you're willing to sell Smile

Here are some pictures of the cats:

Apparently my sister wants to keep the cats, she's a typical cat freak Smile

But just to have an idea, how much would a set like this go for?

It is nice to see a Portuguese member here! Wink Unfortunately it seems you're not a collector anymore but you're very welcome anyway. Very Happy It is also a good idea to sell these figures to collectors so they could find a good home.
4 Euros is surely not a steal. It is a fact that some older Schleich figures were quite sought after some years ago and now their value dropped once they turned much easier to find on EBAY sales. Though, there is some variation and sometimes the same figure is sold for very different prices. Broken parts reduce a lot the value of a figure and it is also almost worthless when very scratched. Some little scratches may be acceptable however.
Feel free to contact me with any questions once we talk the same language or just feel free to post here anything you need.
Só  uma pequena inconfidência, parece que és aquarista ou pelo menos estás ligado ao hobby. Já reparaste na quantidade de figuras maravilhosas de peixes tropicais e outros que existe? Very Happy

Hi, and welcome here Very Happy

Unfortunately the prices have dropped a lot lately. Probably because Schleich is flooding the market with tons of new models every year, so the collectors have given up, and are selling out..

Even those cats, which used to fetch 25-30 Euros each, are offered on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for under 10 Euros, - and they are not even sold at that price.

Here in Denmark people are selling their Schleich collections for app 1,50 euro each Sad
Well, I would never sell at those prices ! Then rather keep them Wink

The large whales may bring a comparatively rather good price, if they are in good condition, - perhaps 20 Euros each ?

I would keep an eye on German Ebay for a while before selling. That is where people search for the current prices Very Happy

Thanks for the quick replies and information, and for the welcome as well! I really appreciate it.
I will PM you Roger Smile All my figures have some scratches but nothing super noticeable, only when closely inspecting them.

Humm, well good to know that Susanne. At least I have an idea how much these figures are worth, even if not much. The whales have some scratches on the underside but that's about it. Maybe I'll ask a bit more for them then. I will also follow your advice and search german ebay. Although i do think it might be a bit hard to access the price of some figure by just looking there, since we can only see the price the seller is selling for and not the price someone else is willing to pay for them.

Again, thanks for all the help.

Welcome here! Very Happy

Agreed with what has already been mentioned here - prices have significantly dropped and collectors begin to sell. I'm also selling my collection and I'll tell you, it's not easy to get rid of them. And I don't want to give them away either :/

There is a way to see what the actual selling price is on eBay - when you search for an item, on the left hand side of the screen is a column with options to narrow your search. Scroll down until it says "Show Only" and check the box that says "Completed listings." There you will see everything that ended - prices in green have sold and red or black have not sold.

Thank you all for the help and tips, I appreciate it.

Basically the conclusion is that I won't sell the whole lot, because my mother seems to have a more emotional connection with them. Which I find odd, but that's it. I will sell only some. So if you see a few figures you like feel free to ask for pictures I might let them go.

I will post some pictures of the horses for bun2013 in the meanwhile.
And Ana sorry for not selling you the cats. If my sister changes her mind I'll let you know! Smile

Thanks once again for being so welcoming and helpful.

Happy to help Wink I use it all the time - so many sellers ask way more than the actual value, so it's nice to see the real selling price Very Happy

Honestly I have no idea how much they are worth, and I could ship to Australia but I'm not sure if the price would justify it. I think it would be 50€+ just to ship them there.

It depends of the weight and if it is insured or not. For instance, 05 to 1 kg is less than 15 Euros in normal service. You can see prices for non insured [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Very Happy

Thanks Roger, you are right, I checked the wrong section and got different prices. All the horses weight a bit more than 1kg, so it would be something on the order of 20€.
