PostSubject: Great Aldi catch   Sun Apr 30, 2017 11:16 pm

When I went grocery shopping the other day, I saw that Aldi had a little cabinet on sale (100$). As my collection is slowly growing (exponentially!  lol!) I was in dire need of some shelf space or other display facility for them. I was initially going to build a cabinet upon returning from my holiday, but I thought this was too good of an opportunity to pass up... So I bought the Aldi one.  Very Happy

Here's I am, with a silly grin, putting it all together.

And here it is, all finished! (Yes, I do collect skull-related items too).

I will be making a frame with plexiglass sliding doors to put in front of the shelves (I have two very curious cats), and if I run out of room, I can always take the doors off on the lower part and do the same thing as above. *SIGH OF RELIEF*  cheers More room for an ever growing family.

That's the right decision for a collector! It looks really good and your ideas also sound great. Soon you will find your collection expanding a lot! Laughing
By the way, I think it is not the first time we see you on forum, is it? Wink

Thanks Roger. I like the fact that I can also add more shelves if I need to.  Wink

Nah! I'm a newbie here.  Smile I found this forum only a few months ago and am truly enjoying it.

lol!  It's temporary, don't worry. More cats and horses will be on their way in shortly, and the skulls will get ousted. I just put them there temporarily to fill the gap and discourage my fur-kids from jumping up there.

Thanks Susanne!  Embarassed Very Happy

Would you believe many of those horses are copies from Kmart and Target stores? They're missing all the Schleich markings. It doesn't really matter to me as I end up removing all markings before I do repaints. I got them for bargain basement prices! (three horses, fencing, bale of hay and bag of oats for 15$)

About the computer monitors... Well spotted! It's actually three 1920 x 1080 monitors. Even at my age, I still like to play video games and once you've tried widescreen, you never go back. (I refuse to grow up, can you tel?!  lol! )

Thanks Yvette and Andreas!  Very Happy I'll be honest... I was a bit reluctant at posting up my silly mug in the forum (I'm quite shy online and in real life.)

Aldi has been a live-saver since they came to Australia in 2001. They first started off in Sydney but quickly opened up many stores across the country. Before that, food prices were ridiculously high. Aldi threw in some much needed competition.
