PostSubject: My Collection   Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:03 pm

I really enjoy seeing how everyone displays their collections. I finally have a large enough collection to justify photos!
Right now I have all of my animals and horses in one room.
I'm sorry for the quality of the photos. For as good of pictures my camera takes outdoors, it takes equally as BAD pictures indoors.

Anyway, here is the view from the doorway...

I also have a small collection of Marx horses that belonged to my husband when he was a child. These are very large scale, like Barbies...

Thanks for letting me share and please use this thread to share photos of your collections as well! :)

Thank you Harriet! Since we have no children and not a big collection of furniture, it was quite easy to have a "hobby room". My books are in there, too. :)

Thank you Roger!

Indeed, I am already running out of room. I do have an empty bookcase in this room where I use the computer that would make for a nice display. But I hate to split them up now cause they looks so nice all crowded together. lol.

I figure eventually I will leave all of the horses together in the room with the stable, and then move Wildlife and all others to the empty bookcase. :)

lol. True.

I used to have a very extensive horse collection, but I have sold off just about all of it. If I still had all of those horses I too would be sleeping in the yard!

I'm more content now collecting the Schleich. It's a little bit easier on the wallet and I like that they are much smaller as I think they display nicer. :)

On a side note....how DO you guys take such nice and clear indoor photos? Do you use artificial lighting and no flash?

What a great collection! I love your "hobby-room" ^^

I take my photos with good lightening (natural or artificial and add flash. Anyway my photos are not quite good xD

Thanks for sharing! Kristie! You photo result is not bad! I supposed for everything in indoor shooting can't be really good or unless you have powerful lighting.

Thank you!

Ken, is the indoor flash that I think I do not like. I wish I could control it I guess. Outside photos is so much better!
One time I tried to set up an indoor photo area for my model horses, with backdrops and lights, etc. It was a big fail. So I stick to outside. :)

I have the same problem too! the problem began to solve when I got big studio light and maybe will invest a slave flash to get better lighting.

Your wildlife shelf with rocks and cave looks ve-e-ry nice, Kristie!
As to the horses - I'm not a horse-collector so can't judge on it Wink
