How to clean safely plastic figures?

How do you clean your Animals?
I use wet wipes for babies. :)
No alcohol or oil.
This works very well.

I usually put them under the tap and gently rub the water over them. I don't wash any of my new figurines - the only time I will do it, is when I've bought them off ebay and they're not new.

The wet wipies seem to work well Cheyenna, good tip!
I sometimes use pure chlorine, and put my rubberish models complete into that fluid for 24 hours, and afterwards clean them with a soft brush with some soap or fluid for the dishes.
The good thing is that the bacterias are gone to...

hey,I got rub marks on my best horses from other figures,pink,blue and other colors and also I made a pink halter for my Schleich Appy and Arabian mare and it got on them is there anyway to get it off,I used normal dish soap and no luck I am too scared to try anything else (it may take the paint off? ) any suggestions?

I use soap for dishes and an old toothbrush; but I only wash them when I buy them on internet. I don´t do that when they are new.

The figures, Doesn't it brokes if i clean with dishes soap, water and paper?

Bernyto : Ordinary sulpho does not harm the figueres, but don`t use the stuff for mashine-wash.
I only use a hard brush as a last escape, though, normally a soft brush is quite enough

I don`t know Mr Clean Magic eraser

But this one is not an eraser, it is like a very soft sponge that crumbles as you use it. It has to be wet to function. 5 or 6 figueres and the sponge is gone... I don`t know how to describe it otherwise

It does not harm the paint at all, actually I don`t know how it works, there are no chemicals in it, but it works amazingly well against heavy dirt

yes 'Mr Clean Magic eraser' is the same thing but it is for cleaning crayon off walls and stuff like that so I guess it would work on figures,I could always try it on one of my least favorite doubles first.(I was planning on repainting her sometime anyway)

I clean my figures with a cloth and water and soap. I don't believe this take the painting off no?

Warm water and a soft sponge. If the figurine requires more than that, then I almost surely didn't acquire it. I guess that makes me a figurine-snob!

I can understand Phil, and you are right.
But sometimes, you have good figurines in a batch, from which you thought, there were doubles, and when you see them, they seem to be variations, and still have to clean them, or just because the pictures of the seller didn't really show the spots, dirt, paint or even damage.
But water and soap or dish-cleaner is the first thing i guess, together with a softer brush, like an old tooth-brush or brush for your fingernails or so.
When this doesn't help, and the spots, dirt or even paint doesn't get off, i throw the model away, or it must be very very rare...

I´m 100% sure that dishes soap and an old toothbrush don´t damage the paintjob

Yes, Willy, you are absolutely correct about receiving a lot of figurines with some in less than fantastic condition. I think you are the expert when it comes to cleaning figurines...

But sometimes you just have to clean them, to get them in the best condition possible.
When it is not for your own collection, then for the trade or sale...

It can be fun, though, I think twise I have bought a big batch of old stuff, and after a couple of hours hard, but careful work, I have very clean hands, and some of the figueres turn out to be like Phoenix rising from the aches

Some are not that dirty as they looked in the first place...

Please help, I bought load of old Britains figures, most of them seriously need some clearing procedure. Can You recommend room-temperatured water and cotton or anything else?
