I will put the Vaquita on my list too. It is wonderful.
And the Friesian will make a wonderful Unicorn.   Very Happy  I can not resist. So that one's on the list as well.
I find the American porcupine very intriguing. Hopefully it will have a nicer paint job that will capture its "fuzzy" look better.
Maybe, maybe the Musk Ox, not sure yet.

I saw the pictures of the new Ankylosaurus on DTF and it looks wonderful.
If it's going to be in 1:35 scale it will be on my list as well.

I'm already excited without even knowing what the other companies will bring!
LOL  bounce cheers sunny

The friesian horse looks nice, but i must see it in real, because i don't like safari horses so much. The Morgan is ugly i expect.
The porcupine is a new world porcupine, we call it Urson or Bauchstachler in german.
That Leviathan is nice and a must have, i like mythological creatures. Also the fat dragon.
But my top of the wishlist is the Musk Ox. Ready at last, the wonderful Schleich Musk ox get a companion.
I WANT that Musk ox! bounce bounce bounce Still 2017 i want it. bounce

Safari 2018 releases seemed promising, now I can see that they are exciting!
Whales look really good. TOOBS like these do really deserve our money.
Andreas is right, that's a new world porcupine, hardly comparable to Schleich figure once old and new world porcupines are quite different.
It is not easy to get right a porcupine in toy shape, I am not sure Safari did it correctly but I am sure the company was very brave introducing this animal in their range. For now, it is the most exciting 2018 release for me. bounce bounce
Equally brave was Safari choosing those almost similar poses to the pygmy hippo and the musk ox. Two very interesting figures and species. If it was not their previous releases from other major companies and surely we were much more excited about them. The musk ox doesn't look very natural but it may be the angle or the pose. The pygmy hippo has the funny looking that these animals have and I like how it is animated.
Back to the leopard seal, the pose, similar to this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is nice and it may not help to judge how good is the figure when what we see is the ventral area. Though, in the composition Safari made showing it as it was in its habitat, it continues not looking convincent and realistic, it just looks a draw to me. Again, I hope I am wrong.
The vaquita is a good idea and the first appearance of this animal among majors. Porpoises are quite rare.
About those horses they are surprising! They show clearly that Safari wants to give their own mark to their line of horses. They break with what is known from other companies. The Morgan is the opposite of Schleich horses, showing a reduced neck and small head. If in Architecture some authors tell that Rococo is the exageration of the Baroque... so this is surely a Rococo Frisian! Laughing

Looking at it again, I'm almost certain it's a Hyaenodon or some other creodont species.  It has a long snout, small ears, a long, panther-like body, and no mane.  Striped Hyenas have short snouts, large ears, short bodies, and profuse manes.  It would be great if it were a Megistotherium, although those are more bear-like.

This is very strange for me... I ama a huge fan of Safari Ltd. but year after year I´m less and less interested... what is happening?? Musk-ox is my long time dream! New musk-ox is on my every year wish list and now finally new one and I´m not pleased. It looks good bud those legs... scratch But I´m really glad some brad came up with this animal!!
I used to love Safari´s horses but the Morgan horse is weird. Sheep and lamb are like a joke and porcupine is really strange. Wow! This is really sad for me. Safari ltd. is on my top but now it seems like they are not focused enough on aminal models.
Boxer, seal and whales are really good... on the other site :)

I don't know, I rather like the pose of the Musk Ox.  He doesn't look so bad, with his hair swept back in the wind.  The feet may be a bit too large, I'm not sure, but I like the figure.

We can see now much better how that musk ox looks like. If I wanted a new musk ox to make a herd with my Schleich/Maia & Borges musk ox, I'd be very happy and quite happy because of the pose of this new Safari figure. However, as I tend to collect a single piece per species, I really doubt a lot that I will love this as much as I love Schleich/M&B figure. I like the way the hair is looking and the pose. The wind effect is also very interesting. Probably, seeing it on real, it can give a much better impression. Looking forward to see a walk around and the opinions of our reviewers. bounce Very Happy

Musk oxen in general are kind of different looking, since they are a "leftover" from the Pleistocene. They actually have huge feet, similar to arctic wolves and hares they act like snowshoes so they can walk better. And their hair is incredibly dense and long. I have seen some in person and knew someone who used to raise them on a sanctuary.

Thanks Julie for keeping us up to date with what Safari is posting. Very Happy
Nice angle for a daeodon that doesn't look too piggy, maybe they were not and that's an interesting interpretation from Dough Watson. pig
The poodle, as mentioned before, seems to be a very decent figure, I'd love to see a comparison with the older Bullyland someday. bounce
I am liking the pygmy hippo. :)

To be honest, I'm not convinced about the Friesian..too flashy, too curvy, too sassy... Definitely looks like a melodramatic baroque/rococo sculpture. But what happened to its neck? It seems to me like somebody is pulling it backwards, not very healthy looking.
Based on a Morgan, I guess the previous sculptor is back... But the Morgan isn't her/his top.

But I like thw poodle, especially on the outside photo.

Yeah, already two figurines on my wishlist :) The jackrabbit and the northern porcupine are for sure some must-haves. I really love the north american based figurines from safari. Hope they´ll continue with this as we got already such figurines as the porcupine, jackrabbit, bobcat, opossum, american badger,...

For the leopard seal I´ve to wait if it´s more accurate as the one from collectA. Have to wait if the sarafi one looks more realisic. For the pygmy hippo, I´ve to wait the seize. The one from collectA was to huge for me...

Is it? It popped up in the new releases tab this morning but it's gone now, so it must've been a technological blip. Sorry. But that could mean they are prepping the page for new releases for tomorrow...

They have enough new items that they haven't "showcased" on Facebook, yet available on the site, to last until Monday. I would be surprised to see new things before then. Pleasantly surprised, but surprised.

Im happy about the musk ox, been wanting one for a while. I

the panther is gorgeous and it really does look like a Florida panther. I hope they will make it a standard size someday b/c I dont collect the XL figures. Sad

so the dessert hare,I was wondering if it was supposed to be what we call the jackrabbit in the US... did some Wiki-ing... yup its a black tailed jackrabbit! Very Happy

The Komodo dragon, ongole cow, and dinosaurs look great. The frogfish is an exciting unique addition. There are a few recycled molds but oh well... My old orange tabby will welcome a gray brother.

this newest batch does not impress me to much. The Komodo dragon seems like an unnecessary remake, and the tabby is only a mere repaint of an earlier gray model (also I do not think this is a true tabby striping pattern, unless it's meant to be a mackerel tabby).

The cardinal is nice, as songbirds make a great idea for the IC line, as does the frogfish. The ongole cow is nice as well, gotta love exotic cattle breeds.

Based on teaser photos there are still more to come...

I like that Satyr and the Anzu Wyliei.

But what is that at the Ongole cows belly? Is she a hermaphrodite?

I always hoped they would make a cardinal figure that was full size, so i'm excited for that one! I would have preferred it be a standard size figure but this size would still look nice on a shelf.

It's my state's official bird and I see them around the neighborhood often in the late fall and winter.

whatever that structure is, it is apparent on both male and female specimens in online images...
