These are interesting- even when the species choices are not uncommon it's fun to see different interpretations. The lynx looks great and hopefully the final paint will look similar to this. The bear and primates are nice.

Two good features in particular stand out: the rattlesnake has a closed mouth and the whale shark has an open mouth. The shark looks spectacular- it is done well by other brands but the feeding pose sets this one apart. I'm curious about the size and final appearance.

Quetzalcoatlus is pure Papo spirit! I find it incredible with an exciting pose and highly detailed. May look weird to some experts but that's what we expect from a Papo figure... pure action!
I think that after Mojö's Arabian mare in foal, pregnant figures are fashionable now, so it explains the Therizinosaurus. Laughing

To be fair, and as much as I like Papo dinos, sometimes they make some figures that doesn't mean anything to me. Their marine reptiles are good examples and this therizinosaurus looks quite silly to me. I think they wanted to give to it the large belly some herbivores have but the general result is surely not my taste. Though, I love the quetzalcoathlus and I know some find it silly because of its pose. Tastes. Very Happy

therizinosaurs are commonly represented as potbellied creatures. it might sometimes become over exaggerated maybe...

If I understand correctly from their Facebook page that's all the wildlife models for 2018, they announced an "icefield playset" today as their final wildlife range release. I hope there's some more farmlife and likely lots more fantasy.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for some nice cats and dogs from Papo for 2018.
Hopefully we can see the new catalogue 2018 online soon.

Thanks for picture, Christophe! Hard to judge from this pic, we can't see ventral area and pose seems quite stiff for a Papo. It has a beautiful color and if it is done with the subtle detail Papo used us, it may end looking like a very graceful figure. Hopefully, someone acquires it and show a walk around on forum. Very Happy

Oh, I like the lynx, and the Acrocanthosaurus as well. Lynx is one of my favourite animals, I have seen it once in here in Finland (not in a zoo but in real nature).

I don't have any dinosaur figurines so far. The Acrocanthosaurus might be my very first purchase.

I think it was not yet presented here. A new color for the Hanoverian horse. I think there are some more new horse figures but I can't check now. Sleep

Here are some additional pictures from the new Papo catalog:

A tamer to match the large number of bipedal animals such as Polar Bear, Grizzly, Black Bear, Tiger, Mountain Gorilla and all the carnivorous Dinosaurs, I think he will not survive. Rolling Eyes  Laughing

The Rattlesnake seems to be bendable:

New there are some displays: ice field (that looks quite ok), jungle, savannah and prehistoric times. I think it's a good idea, but they could have been more natural, not so comic-colorful. The animal models do not really come into their own. Let's see, maybe they really look better.

Unfortunately, there is only a small, poorly printed picture of the blue whale's open mouth, but at least:

No new cats or dogs?
By the way, why did they put penguins on the cover next to that Inuit man? That can only cause confusion about the life on two different continents and people already confuse them way too often Rolling Eyes
I just notice they made a model of a tamer No, like in circus yes? Horrible, ithink it doesn't belong to our times and I think it's a shame that the toy company sees it as a good idea to make a model like that. Like, kids will play about abusing animals and see the circus with animals like it's a normal thing? i don't get it.

Sorry, no new cats and dogs.

And I fully agree with you because of the tamer, it is absolutely out of date.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I also find the front part of the zoo really bad, the cages are reminiscent of the prison more than a hundred years ago, that has nothing to do with a modern zoo today. The two free enclosures are okay, but a bit to small. Also it is not nice for children to play, everything is too tight.
I do not know what Papo thought. confused  No
Please do not misunderstand, I like old animal houses in zoos and their history, but if they are contemporary and appropriate to the species with smaller animals.
Since I like the new displays much better, even if they look a bit unnatural.

Thanks for sharing, in overall saddly very few models for me, but I really like the chicken. I heard that the hippo female and the anteater also won't be produced anymore, is that true?

I can not tell you now, I'm back to work on Monday, so I can check again. Now it's the weekend. Wink

Hey, thank you, Yurumi:)
Yes, for example the Zoo Leipzig is a good example of how a modern zoo should look like.

Not really. They shot two young lions, which arer escaped from their cage. There was no visitors at this time in the zoo, so they should use a tranquilizer gun or a net gun.

Yurumi, can you post the photos from fantasy and knights, please?

Also not right, not out of cage, but broke out of the free enclosure and it only had to be shot a lion, as there was a danger that this breaks two security barriers of employees. It was previously tried to work with anesthesia, but this has not worked and the lion was unpredictable and unfortunately had to be shot as a last resort, for the safety of the zoo animal keepers. The second lion still lives in Leipzig Zoo with a female.

Sorry, of the fantasy and knights I did not take any pictures, we are here in an animal forum Laughing Wink
