Schleich @ The London Toy Fair - 22 January2015

I made my annual pilgrimage to to the London Toy fair to catch a glimpse of new releases by all the major brands.  Unfortunately CollectA, Mojo and Safari Ltd were not present.  I was sad to discover the UK distributor of Safari Toys Ltd has stopped working with them.  It means there will not be a UK distributor for a long time if indeed Safari animals are sold in the UK at all.

It was busy and I did not really get to speak to many people but I did take photos for you all to see.  what I did learn from Schleich was that they are placing less emphasis on their own staff to sell to stores - they have brought in sales reps from other companies to do the work for them who do not work directly for Schleich.  This is interesting and shows the change in business within that company.  It meant the reps did not really know much about the toys themselves so I was not going to ask them anything in detail.  

Interesting to see Schleich taking on Hollywood action figures....not my thing at all but I am sure some of you will like....

So to start here are the Schleich ones.  I have photos of Bullyland and Papo which I will post in the relevant folders:

Numaan, you're awesome!  Is the London Toy Fair public, so everyone can visit it or is it how in Nuernberg, where only people of the "toy-buissnes" can get in? 
Do you may know if they will have a new calendary this year? 
The new dinosaurs set are looking awesome, but I'm not a fan of the Mimi dinosaurs

Hi guys

I dont know anything about a calendar but the London Toy Fair is easy to register for in advance and attend. Yes it is for businesses but I just register on the website and enter the company where I work and it is not a problem at all.

However I must advise that the London toy fair is not really the 'Big one' it is the Nuremberg one which is big and even CollectA go there. CollectA visited the London one two years ago but with little success and never attended again. Not all major brands show here but they all seem to go to Nuremberg. I will try and visit there one day......

Posting all these pictures take sooooooo long using Photobucket. I am trying to upload all the wildlife figures...I have saved these till last as I think all the mini packet animals are exciting.

Here is the final set of Toy fair images.  These are the wildlife models.

The wolf REALLY does look as terrible as the catalogue photos - what happened here?  The previous wolves were so much nicer.

The mini accessory sets are very interesting - in amongst these we get gerbils, frogs and a chameleon as well as a green snake and new baby ostrich and crocodile.  The packs are priced in four different tiers related to the letters printed on the packs from A to D.  Group A costs £2.49 (3.50 euros?) going up to £4.49 (6euros?) - you can see the prices underneath the mini diorama in one of the photos......

Ok I am off to bed, will post Papo and Bullyland pics tomorrow. However Bullyland did not have any new models on display unfortunately.....

Wait, there are some models there I haven't seen before. What is the snake next to the standing Meerkat? And the green snake under the rock? And the tiny baby Ostrich chick? What the heck?

I really like the extra animals in the sets. Especially the "black snake" in the large cave set, and the chameleon and green snake in the small sets. Thanks so much for the pics!

I They are from small sets , - there are ones with chameleon, butterflies, frogs, desert mice , green snake etc...all with some green or some rock/desert
