Mutations - White tigers, white lions etc

Most brands released also mutations of "normal" animals: e.g. white tiger , white lion
Do you also collect these special mutations? Or do you ignore them?

For a special celebration, my parents, with very good intention but poor knowlegde, knowing my increasing taste for collecting animal replicas, gave me as gift a realistic white tiger.
I just felt very happy once they told me that I can change the figure in the same shop that was bought. I go here the next day and changed the tiger by my current sperm whale.

I also avoid photographing them for mi gigantic archive of own-made biodiversity photos. I rarely even kept more than few seconds looking at them in zoos, pet shops or whatever. I must have a photo of every species possible, but I still not have any photo of Ovis aries, Capra hircus or Cavia porcellus just because I never found ones with natural-looking coat for photograph.

There are some exceptions - I keep orange goldfishes in my pond just because natural ones are too difficult to get - but I usually avoid anything related with artificial man-made live animals. Same applies for the plants I grow in my garden.
These are just my personal tastes only. Of course others can find mutants very appealing - if not, CollectA would not make white lions!

I also tend to avoid this kind of figures, unless they are foxes and I have silver foxes. I don't have a single white tiger or white lion but as mentioned on previous post, that's just a personal decision and obviously I don't judge anyone for collecting them. I just think they're not neccessary and brands should avoid releasing this kind of figures.

I have very few of these mutations, but they belong to some series, so....

What irritates my most are the rubbish, that people tell about them, like :
-They need to be saved as the white ones are becomming rare . Nonsence, they are rare because it is not a good camouflage.
- We can't know if they are dying out. YThe colour is due to a reccesive gene, so in principle 1/4 th of all offspring between normal coloured animals could be white
- Children learn that White Tiger = Siberian Tiger White tigers are ususally Bengal tigers.

Actually, white tigers (99'9999999999999% of which, are artificially produced by mankind, so talking about conservation of a domestic animal like white tiger is, is a nonsense) are not bengal tigers but hybrid subspecific tigers with blood mix of different subspecies. That's because what zoos claims to be "bengal" tigers (either white or natural) are not pure bengal tigers but hybrid subspecies. Very probably there are no bengal tigers in zoos of the world outside of India.
