PostSubject: Stabyhoun sculpture   Fri Jul 13, 2018 11:03 pm

I've been working on a doggy commission and I actually try to film little parts of the progress so I'll have a little movie in the end of how I "build" my sculptures :)

It's been a fun project so far and it's quite challenging to not only make it represent the right breed but also a specific dog.

Well, here is the process thus far:

with an other doggie waiting for the oven to warm.

I confess I didn't know about the breed and after reading a little, it seems it is a very rare breed but with a long history. Those are beautiful dogs and it will be pleasant to follow your progress. :)

Thank you :)

@Roger: the stabyhoun is a dutch breed and therefor more comon in the Netherlands and somewhat rare outside of it, though before I started the sculpt I knew the breed as Friese Stabij" (frisian staby) (though apparently it has had the name stabyhoud for a few decades already Embarassed ) . Learning new stuff is almost as fun as sculpting itself flower
