We have two mystery composition Tigers. This one, moulded with a base, is in his original paint, has a few mended cracks, and has lost the end of his tail.

This one has been repainted and his left front foot has been replaced. Originally, his colour was brighter, more like the other mystery Tiger.

Comparison with Elastolin walking Tiger.

With Tipple Topple walking Tigers from different eras.

With Lineol walking and standing Tigers from different eras.

Can anyone identify the makers of our mystery-beasts?

Yes, Baltimore Zoo, those big, 1930's Lineol Tigers are beautiful, but they have funny expressions on their faces! And that metal "pump-handle" tail is really too small! Looks like it was made for a smaller animal.

Lineol made a longer tail, but only used it on their crouching Tiger.

We will keep hoping that someone recognises our mystery Tigers ...

I just really like the body positioning of the figure(you can angle(3/4 turn) the tiger, so you don't even see the tail, and notice it's a little shorter).
Still very nice figure!

Hi Sue and Lesley,

i got some informations from Ulli Raue. He wrote me, that the tiger on the first pic is from "Lisanto", the tiger on the second pic is a unknown producer. I hope i could help you a little bit.

Thank you, Torben, that is very helpful.

Looks like our other Tiger will have to go on being a mystery!

Normally is would say, when Ulrich Raue doesn't know, nobody knows, but maybe there is somebody on the part of the forum of Tierfigurenjournal who knows, make yourself a member there(when you are not already), and go to the forum where collectors ask their questions about models... Rolling Eyes
