PostSubject: My latest Schleichs   Tue Apr 05, 2011 4:21 am

I've gotten quite a few new Schleich that I have not shared yet. :)

First here is a wonderful Angus bull that I got in trade from Anna. Isn't he handsome? :)

I went to the local Target department store to find that they had the green, red, and grey dot Schleich on sale for 75% off! I hope they are not going to stop selling Schleich. I asked the clerk and she said she did not know. She said they sold a lot of them, so hopefully they are just clearing backstock to make room for new.

Anyway, some of these I got from Target and some from the shop where I work. :)

Here is a Holstein bull that I call Doublestuff!

Hedgehog that I found at Target for .74 cents!

Pigface

Retired billy goat

Made in Germany rooster

Mama duck

Warthog from Target for $1.12

Retired Percheron stallion (love his coloring!) Target $1.74

Lab puppy (has made friends with the Great Dane) Target .74

And last but not least, my first elephant! Am I correct in that this is the female Asian? $1.74 Target!

Sorry for the overload of photos. We've had cold and rainy weather, but last two days have been lovely, so I made up for lost time. :)

Thanks for letting me share!

Thanks to everyone! Yes, I felt very lucky to have found such a bargain on the Schleich. I had always avoided the elephants in the shops cause they are so expensive. It was odd that the green, red, and grey dots were on clearance, but not the yellow. Otherwise there would have been a white non-vegetarian tiger coming home with me.

Congratulations on your new additions at such great prices. One of the Target stores here has quit selling Schleich, but the other has not. I am not sure if they are going to stop selling or not. I hope not.

I saw your photo of warthog and now I'm sure I'll buy one Very Happy Angus bull looks impressive.

Roger, elephats' tusks are incisors (those teeth in the very front). From Wikipedia:
Quote :
Tusks are used to dig for water, salt, and roots; to debark trees to eat the bark; to dig into baobab trees to get at the pulp inside; and to move trees and branches when clearing a path. In addition, they are used for marking trees to establish territory, and occasionally as weapons.
Also, Asian elephant females can have either very small or no tusks at all Wink

Good news is that Target is still selling Schleich! They had some new arrivals yesterday! Bad news is they are no longer 75% off. Razz

I finally saw the wolverine in person, but I didn't bring any of them home with me.

No, I didn't find him cute at all.

I did like the Arctic Fox, but it was time to buy groceries, not foxes. Sadness.
