I am very happy that we chose aome insects this time  cheers

It includes wasps, bees, and ants, and consists of many families. It contains the most advanced hymenopterans and is distinguished from Symphyta ( = [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] )by the narrow "waist".

Bullyland made the most charming little flock from 1998 - 2005.
from top left : Drone bee, wasp, queen bee, worker bee, and bumble bee.

An unmarked bee, the Schleich mini bee, and a gorgeous wasp, which Kosta gave to me...I just can't remember the brand  Embarassed

My bees from Safari : Toob, Authentics bumblebee from 1995, and bee from the lifecycle series.
The "Lifecyvćle-bee" was also sold as an Incredible Creatures for a short period Wink

This wasp is by Blip Toys in their Natures Wonders HD series. I believe it is meant to be the European paper wasp, Polistes dominula.

This is an interesting thread as there is only one hymenopteran figure I am aware of that is not in Apocrita, that being the raspberry horntail by Play Visions.

I will see what I can add and how I will present them...

Bees and ants are very common among generic bin figures. Just to highlight the diversity of species of this group in toy form, here are small figures represented at the genus or species level.

From left to right, top to bottom:

1. Australian paper wasp, Polistes humilis (Cadbury - Yowies)
2. velvet ant, Dasymutilla occidentalis (Play Visions - Exotic Insects)
3. plasterer bee, Colletes sp. (Play Visions - Bees, Wasps, and Hornets)

I am glad of seeing that it is being a suyccessful topic. Wink I know from the Blaine's bug of the day that he has a lot of these and it is great to see how they're being sorted here but I didn't know other friends had so many of these. I don't have a single figure to contribute but I am really enjoying a lot. Very Happy
