I have found in a flea market some del Prado figurines copies. they are sold in a window box called Globo s.p.a, a big toy wholesaler ii italy. I bought two window boxes . One of these includes a rhinboceros, crocodile and a canid. anyone knows what species is the canid on the left? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

We never identifyied these species using an official source. I remember we having difficulties finding the correct species to these canids. It was already the other way round, this wolf identifyied as a jackal and the jackal identifyied as a wolf. Lucio have presented recently the illustration where the other canid was inspired and it is a wolf. If so, TAI is wrong. Nayab catalogue do not tell the species. Maybe someday we find the Del Prado identifications to clear things up. If this set is coerent, we have an African rhino (black), an African croc (slender-snouted) and it needed to be an African canid, likely a jackal. If you ever find more sets like these, please let us know.

The misterious nayab canid has a yellowstone coyote head but the tail is more like that of a domestic dog. Maybe this canid is a coyote.
