HK, great collection, I don't usually do farm animals, but I love the Scottish Highland set, and there are sevral brands that make them, I actually have 3 different sets, I have the Schleich, CollectA and a cow bull and calf for either Safari or Papo, I can't remember who the third maker is, all of them are great, and I love the fact that I now have a herd of 10 and not one in the same pose. Is there a Scottish farm diorama in my future? Not right now, but you never know:-)

Thanks Phil. Yes the highlands are beautiful models, I love them. Nice if you do make a Scottish Diorama in the future, I know it would look lovely :)

Great collection Holly!
There is soo much i have to buy and collect again.
Although i was still almost complete at the beginning of last year, i still missed the Swiis cow and calf, but i had the bull in mint-comdition with tag, yes...had... Sad
But ok, they will come back in time i guess.

The Scottish higlanders are really beautifull indeed.
Those old and original breeds with long horns remember me of the original wild cattle from before, like the auerochs.

Thanks Willy,
I'm so glad I did get the swiss cattle when I did. They were the first cattle I had along with the Shire Gelding and Arab Stallion.
Shame about your Swiss bull, that must have been hard letting that go.

Welcome Harriet!
I had to let go my complete Schleich collection before, that is why i have to buy them all back again. Shocked
After the selling all the new ones for 2009 came in, and i kept all of my accesoires then, so i could make a re-start.
I think, i am back on 300 pieces right now, without the accesoires and trees.
I believe, i needed something like 30 figurines, including some variations.
But i had the rare pinto-horse, the brown pelican(with tag), the shire with standing manes, and more rare stuff.

Anyhow, i try to buy or trade back the rare ones first, as far as possible, but they have to pass by on you of course.
The models that are more easy to get, i buy only when i can get them cheap, or in a trade or so.
And every month, i try to make another goal in getting figurines.
One month i concentrate on Schleich, the next one on Starlux and so on, so i can complete all of those brands i collect(which are all, haha) Laughing

When i talk about beeing complete almost, i don't talk about the knights, elves and other figurines, i don't collect those, i only collect animal-figurines or related to that in one or the other way.
Maybe i would like the Indians in the future or so, because i like native-people.
Another side-branch in my collections are pre-historic people.
But i like the older Schleich figurines, like the mini's, classics and those other series, from which i do own quit a few already.
That was easy for me, as i had a lot of them already as a child, because i lived in Germany those days, and then they were very available for just a few pennies.

Great display, HK. A thundering herd if they all start moving together. Laughing
I see from your profile you're in Cumbria. So, are you a Geordie or a Mackem?

My collection is very small compared to yours! That's a good way to collect, do Schleich on month etc... I just get things when they are available, of course, I don't collect retired so it's easier for me. I just get all the new models that I like. If there's a retired model that I really want, like Steve's (Stecal) Heavy Horse, I will hunt for one.
No, I just collect animals too, I like the Idians, but I don't think I'll ever get them. I'll stick to wildlife, farm and horses :)

I'm neither Geordie or Mackem, in fact I'm southern, I was born in Hampshire. Then moved to Canada for three years then moved back to England to Cumbria.

Great collection. The brown swiss cows have to be my favorite. I collect any and all. I have most of the knights, all the current elves, cowboys and indians.

I love the St. Bernards. I am still waiting for the standing one. I don't think I will be able to find the laying one without the eyes painted though. I think you got a special one.

Well, it was an accident with the lying dog, about the eyes not being painted, but I guess it is a kind of variation... I'm looking to get the German Shepherd sitting, I really love it. I think you have it don't you.

Yes, I have it. It was one of my last shopping spree purchases.

Yes indeed Holly.

The two last German shephards are still available in the shops here, so i will get them in short notice in think, because they are out of wild- and forest-life for me now..., so time to work on some other Schleich series.
