PostSubject: A harness of sorts   Thu Apr 21, 2011 6:38 pm

I made these last Monday but have just uploaded them now.

Seems that the Husky is interested in something. Luckily Omar put the harness on before they left.

Rabbit jumping ! MCS Brown Sugar seems a little confused. Shouldn't he be the one jumping ? and why has his hay become a jump ?!

Just some little props that I made.

Thank you :) Your wolf CM is very cute.

I always make halters, rugs etc for my model horses but thought I would do something different.
It was my rabbit Milo who inspired me to make the harness. Now that the weather is nice again, I have been continuing with his rabbit jumping. He has so much energy that even running around the garden for 5 hours does not make him tired. So I bought a rabbit jump and improvised with a few of their toys and now we have a jumping course Very Happy Being the clever rabbit that he is, Milo doesn't need a harness anymore. He just follows me :)

I had a rabbit that was almost that big :O lol he was black and white and we called him Jersey....I know jersey cows are brown but we could not call him holstin heifer now could we? Razz LOL
We thought and still think he was a German Gray Giant Cross with another big breed,I am not really sure what he was but he was HUGE!
He was from the SPCA so we were not sure of his breeding...

It's great to know Your rabbits are so clever and I wish to see them in action! I think it is something extraordinary to train the rabbit to jump over obstacles and additionaly without any harness cyclops Congratulations !! queen

Here is an article published today :)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Not sure why they've called it Dressage as it is showjumping ?
I must point out that as amazing as my Milo is, there is no way that I will jump him that high. Our jumps are about 20 - 30cms high and that's high enough for him.
I also do not use a harness anymore, Milo is a free jumper :)

Harriet, I'm sorry about posting rabbit photos all the time. I get upset when I see guinea pigs that look like Max.

Can you not get another rabbit ? Maybe an indoor rabbit ?

I would LOVE to, but I'd be terrified of it getting myxomatosis - they can still catch it even if they're indoors can't they?

Yes, unfortunately they can.

Do you have a lot of wild rabbits where you live ? It's mostly spread by other rabbits but it's also believed to be spread by gnats too.

Yes, we have loads of wild rabbits and I've seen lots with myxomatosis - so it wouldn't be wise for me to get another bunny really.
