I understand scientific names better than English or even Spanish common names! Common names are just ornaments. Scientific names are THE names. So no matter for putting them there :)

I remember a big excitment around this set, especially because of these zebras. Though, I think only the lion is not at the same level, all other figures are absolute mastterpieces. Every single detail, proportions, poses showing elegance or strength, perfect painting, true monuments!

I totally agree with you, the lion has a cartoonish feeling, like Lion King.

No worries. It's very difficult to translate these very specific words. I don't know whether "secret figure" is really the right translation, but I have often seen this and it makes sense in English.
