These were made for younger children by Britains.Mine are dated 1989,they were only made for a short while. There were more wild and farm models but I only have these 3.They are a bit cartoonish but reasonably well made. Smile Young Britains 05913

Britains made very realistic models. These are intended to look toyish and I think they did it well.
Kangaroo females use to be grey and always have a pouch. Males use to punch a lot but it seems it was knocked out by a crazy gorilla! monkey

I should be able to find out when they were produced. If you could add pictures, then I'll make a section on TAW for these figures. I don't have any myself.

Edit: The farm animals range was started in 1989 and the zoo range in 1990. They don't appear to have been very successful, because they were only produced until 1993.

I have a very similar in spirit set made by Toy Major for toddlers. It's just dinosaurs.
Young Britains IMG-2635
I think figures of this nature are a good safe introduction for the littlest children.

The two squeezable are the yellow parasaurolophus- I think it's a different manufacturer, as the blue tyrannosaur (?) seems to be, and the pink elasmosaur (so labeled). The elasmosaur is TM, but I think it's intended to be a bath toy.

I found a Britains catalogue from 1999, and there they were :

Young Britains Small-World1

Young Britains Small-World2

Young Britains Small-World3

Must be fun to play with Wink

In the catalogue there are also the normal size models, and among them a moose rendeer Shocked
It is in TAI, but it must be rather rare, because I have never seen it before Very Happy

I think Susanne's catalogue is from an earlier year. The history of the Britains Small World animals is:

Black Horse 1989-1993
Black foal 1989-1993
White foal 1990-1993
Black and white cow 1989-1993
Black and white `calf 1989-1993
Sheepdog 1989-1993
Pig 1989-1993
Sheep 1989-1993
Tan cow 1990-1993
Tan calf 1990-1993
Pony with rider 1991-1993

Giraffe 1990-1993
Rhinoceros 1990-1993
Brown bear 1990-1993
Lion 1990-1993
Orangutan 1990-1993
Kangaroo 1990-1993 (first tan coloured, then grey from 1992 or 1993)
Elephant 1990-1993
Tiger 1990-1993
Moose 1991-1993
Camel 1991-1993
Ostrich 1991-1993
Zebra 1991-1993
Panda 1991-1993
Black panther 1991-1993
Polar bear 1991-1993
Crocodile 1991-1993

Shall we put this in TAW so people can add photos?
