Cows are cute!!! Unless in my opinion! We learn to love different stiles! Maybe you are right with the antique, it looks maybe like some vintage brands but those with high quality! :)

Yes, the sculpting style is very high quality and I think the way they are painted has a bit of a vintage look to it. I see it very much with my American Bison and also Papopotamus.

Also I have sent the photo of the Limousin to my friend that breeds them to ask if it is a fair representation of the real thing! :)

Here is what she said....

Quote :
the breed orignated in France and the purebreds are red and are horned. most of the American versions are full bloods and bred to be black and polled. Altho most cattle are straight backed rather than have that dip

So there you have it. Leave it to us Americans to go messing with stuff.

Also, the Schleich cows, especially the newer ones that I have DO have very straight backs. So perhaps the Schleichs are more realistic!

Thanks Kristie for the information! That's a picture of limousin cow in Wikipedia, the back is some deep, but differences with Papo version are obvious! Anyway we can recognise many characteristics! Maybe the Papo is a French top model! Wink

I always thought Schleich made good cattle - I love these the best and I think they are quite realistic

I see he is expensive!

We just got some "off price" Schleich gift sets at work. And one of them has the Flekviech Bull! It comes in a set with the Longhorn, Rodeo Bull, and Holstein. Of all of those I only have the Holstein bull so I could always offer him up for trade. I'm not super crazy about the Rodeo Bull either...he's mean.

Would cost me about $17 USD. Should I do it? Very Happy

Shops tend to get rid of old stock and replace everything with new things as soon as possible, well I found that with the toy shops near me.
Maybe you can get Robert to send you one Wink
