The 2020 STS Woodland figure of the year - Squirrel by Papo!

These closer pictures are better to compare and I go for the Safari fox.

Oh, this is hard one! Many of my faves in this category.

I have to admit, I am surprised the red squirrel is doing so well. Not because it's not a good figure (on the contrary - it is really nice). It's just not an exciting species. I would expect the owl and pheasant or be leading, or maybe the Safari TOOB as it offers some very rare and new/unique species.

I can't see why an owl is more exciting than a squirrel.. But, I think the most unexpected thing in this poll was the decline of the Wolf. It seemed a very popular model.

I agree with both of you and this poll is full of surprises. Never expected to see the wolf such behind the reindeer, the squirrel getting so strong despite inding it a fantastic model Actually, revisiting these models not taking the species or other collecting factors in consideration, I think the best models are the pheasant and the red squirrel, absolutely beautiful in these pictures from Susanne. The fox is nice and huge, it is my main collecting subject but I have not voted it.

The STS constest is always the price truth.

The Papo squirrel is not so exciting species but when I hold this model on my hands, makes me love it.
And gives me so much joy.
That`s why it is my choice.

Yes, I am aware of it and I am obviously quite eexcited to see it in real. I will let you know as soon as I'm back home and I am so happy you got it for me, many thanks!

I'm not surprised to see squirrel scoring so well. I think it is a beautiful model! And besides, who doesn't love squirrels?

Definitely a deserving winner, this model is a real beauty and realistic in every tiny detail! I cannot fault it in any way, when I hold this beauty in my hands, everything about it is just so 'squirrelly'
In fact this model is so beautiful, that even after becoming a dog collector this wonderful squirrel joined my collection- it was impossible to resist! And if there were to be a second place after the dog, for me it would be this squirrel-!

The moose is on TAW. Here by Susanne's collection. It has a necklace with something hanging but that's surely a kind of North American fashion.

Looks like people like cervids a lot three winners in 5 years in woodland category, plus this year the Papo megaloceros won the prehistoric category despite the many atonishingly well done dinos competing :)

I've been thinking about the same.and cervids are not good selling figures. Even considering our community is more mmamal oriented, it was also a surprise to see Megaloceros winning in what was probably the best year for prehistoric figures I have ever witnessed. That's the funny part of these polls, we learn a lot and there are always some interesting surprises.

I am disappointed by this choice, as it is such a common species, and made by so many manufacturers, nothing new on the horizon, but hey, we all have different opinions....
