Papo 2004 catalogue

I was lucky to find the 2004-catalogue on Ebay France.
As Willy tells me that there are no animals in the 2003-catalogue, this one must show the first year that Papo had an animal-series

This even if the first ones are marked 2003.

Perhaps it could be interesting for you, friends, to see ?

I start with the front + back pages.
Then page 2 + 3, because they illustrate that knights hat a very important role.
The animals first appear on the last pages, but I have teken page 28 - 29 also, because on page 29 the Mammuth and stone age men are shown.

Not untill page 48 does the animals appear, - they fill the rest of the catalogue

So it looks that 2004 was the first year as I told before and even figures are marked with 2003! We know it also happens with Schleich!
I don't know if Kristie already saw this hippo before!
About nice figures for the first year I'm not only seeing the cheetah and leopard! Try to see a 2004 Schleich catalogue and tell me! :)

Not the worst surely, but also not the best! I know it from Torben's collection! It remembers the style from some ordinary hippos from other brands, but the new hippo is really better! I'm sure!

Thanks for these pics Susanne, because my oldest Papo catalogue is the 2005 one...

At that time, their felines and reptiles were already excellent,but their ungulates still needed improvement.

They were the first modles from the prehistoric line, yes.
The mammoth is marked 2000, so it must have been there before Papo began to make animals.
( My neandertahalers are packed down, but I think they were made the same year)

The year after the first "real" animals came the Parasaurolophus, Velociraptor ( in a beaytyful paintwork), the standing, green T-rex and the triceratops
