Mojo 2021 -gorillas pair

Hello everyone

Recently, those two gorillas from the Mojofun 2021 line joined my collection. As with two other models (kangaroo and snow leopard), I decided to make a walk-around photo session of those apes.

I've just realized that I still miss the size comparison shot with a lego block for TAW. This will still come later.

What a nice couple


The female first. I like her calm sitting pose a lot. I think she's my favorite of the two.

A silverback indeed.  

I honestly like both figures. It is a fact the male seems to have a kind of longilineal body, especially promoted by relatively long legs but it is a very serious sculpt and it looks more like a sculpture than a toy what I appreciate. Female is a completely new design, very well made with that really great pose.
As I said in your other topic, fortunately now the market is very well served with gorillas, both new Schleich and new CollectA are very good models and now this couple to join the party.
I suspect those are slightly larger than what we are used but that may be related with the long limbs, probably the head is roughly the same size as the models I previously mentioned.

I always find that brands sculpt gorillas so well- and these ones are perfect examples! I love the pose of the female, and both are so realistic with that excellently done texture!

My mom's favorite animals! The female reminds me a lot of Koko, but really I love both of these sculpts. They did a great job!

Nice gorillas and beautiful photos. Did you get all the new Mojos, Ana? I am curious about the African elephant, but I haven't seen it for sale yet.

Nowadays they do, the gorillas have much improved compared to many vintage figures that looked like a cross between a human and a monkey.

Both are great. Again, not enough to replace what I have, but if I was starting from scratch, I'd consider these.

I'll try to take the size comparison photos soon, probably the next time when I have my camera in my hands.

@rogerpgvg I got 4 new Mojos, but no elephant at that time. But hopefully, they will be available soon, so perhaps someone else can take photos.

It is one of the reasons why I have a huge respect for Mojö Fun, they're a very bold company. While Safari, Schleich, CollectA, presented their first primate as gorillas, Papo favoured a chimp, Mojo gave us a proboscis monkey, a black crested macaque, a ring-tailed lemur and only after these a chimp and now silverback gorillas.
Another point is, if we now have very good gorillas on market, none of these brands made a better first generation of gorillas as good as those from Mojö Fun.

They are beautyful !!!
Somehow they radiate the greatness of this amazing primate, which resembles us so much, - unly more beautyful

I have already so many gorillas, but these two must stand on my piano some day

The promotional photos looked already great but seeing them at more angles really shows how amazing these two sculpts are, they were already at the top of my Mojö 2021 wishlist and seeing them like this they remain on this spot, definitely the first new Mojö releases I'll buy.

I went to shop to see the real products. I was disappointed for the heavy glossy paint on the gorilla pair, which is not so appropriate naturally.  
Only few of the 2021 new items are painted glossy and most of them are a bit larger than usual.

Just got the male in yesterday, and he's so amazing. Still, I wonder if anyone would know which species/subspecies him and the female represent?

Great walkaround Anna! I will surely be adding the female to my collection.

Loon: I would say that the Mojo figures are either Western or Eastern lowland. The difference between them are that Eastern lowlands are more robust and have a broader body. They do have other differences but aren't noticeable in figures (e.g. longer teeth)

Those are very nice, especially the beautiful lady. About Mr Gorilla I regret the two backlegs are a bit too short in my opinion. Gorillas on four I can see in zoo or on the web have a more horizontal stance. nevertheless the sculpts are nice.
I could be tempted to buy the lady but I'm not sure I have now enough space for another gorilla.
