Where is the Indian doctor won the Guinness record of the largest collection of the animal figurine

Does anyone know where is the Indian doctor who have ever won the Guinness record of the largest collection of the animal figurine? In the last few years, his news has just vanished from the web and the relevant circle.

I never heard of him...unfortunately

His collection is indeed very big

Dr. Narayanan is active on Facebook and while we know his collection is huge I wouldn't say for sure it's THE biggest. I think if some of the collectors here would start counting perhaps we would see a new Guinness record

Also, I thought Doctor had an account on this forum too?

our Indian friend is not active om forum since 2014 although I am sure he still visits the forum often with another account. His collection is impressive but it is hard to tell it is the largest. When he was active om forum, collectors like Torbem, Willy, or even our Swedish friend Anna, were already owners of gigantic collections. There are other members, still active im this hobby with impressive collections amd we know who they are even If they do not make the size of their collection their main reason.

Ana, thank you very much. That's him, Dr. Narayana, I did see him on this forum before. But hardly saw him again in last few years.
I'm just curious about his disappearance because I often checked his animal figurine's pictures showed on the web and a now defunct website "the collector's quest".
I googled him just now and found some information but not so prevalent as before.
Also many thanks to all the other friends kindly responded to my query.

I never count my figurines :)

records are just records amd to be a record it must be recordede.
That is probably the only collection validated in India so it is enough to be considered the largest. Those are also numbers for 2011. There is a member of this forum that beats that number just counting spare figures. But that member is not from India. Those are actually humble numbers when compared with some of our friend's collections. A respectable number anyway amd probably outdated. :d

I agree. And there is a another collector in India :) with also a very interesting collection. He is a specie collector too :)

I am from India, but never heard of the guy myself. So thats a new for me too

The 'Limca Book of Records' is more or less akin to 'Ripley's Believe It Or Not' than to the 'Guinness World Records'. Its an annual reference book of rare and unusual events and people, published by the CoCa Cola brand - exclusively in India.
So, yes as Roger has correctly pointed out it only validates Indian records.

On a side note I would like to point out that I googled him and he is a practitioner of Homeopathy.
Homeopathy is not recognised as a genuine medical science by leading Medical Health Institutions world wide.
It has been recently banned by the NHS in the UK. It is also a big problem here in India.
This should not be taken as a personal attack but it should be avoided to call practitioners of 'Alternative Medicines' as Doctors.
Simply out of respect for those who study hard and pour countless hours into research to become 'actual doctors'.

I have vague memories of this...I definitely knew him from when Laughing Giraffe was worth going to.

As for the 'world record'...I have actually let a lot of figures go recently, and still have nearly 4000.
