unknown hardplastic birds in my zoo

They look great. I like the pheasant a lot. What is the bird to the left of the pheasant? What does it have on its head?

It is really a misterious series, when I've seen those from MrOkapi, I thought immediately you would find them in a short time. I was not expecting it to be so fast. I don't understand yet why this selection and it is curious they reproduced some species with uneasy color patterns.

Wow more of these beautiful birds! They look almost like porcelain or something, and there is so much detail and pattern. Love them!

Very nice catch, I agree with Jill, they look like porcelein more than hardplastic.

To which of the four pheasant models are you referring to?
By the "what does it have on its head" I think the figure that draw your attention is precisely one of the 4 pheasant models. More precisely a crested fireback. Hard to be sure, as these models have a bit of unrealistic sculpt and paintjob. It could also pass more or less as a Congo peafowl tough, or even a Gambel's quail.

Anyway, what it have in the head are (representation of) feathers (and eyes and bill )

It could also be a Monal, it is hard because the coloration is not really realistic.

Thank you. But it was alos in my last zoo news and long time before white_lightning_wolf share the figures too, but it could be only on Facebook. Now i hope to find more

Yes, but the coloration could be better. But the species are very unusual

Same style - but marked with "Japan" - is it also that?

They may be more commercially oriented Widukind, for store-window displays, wedding decorations and things like that? They might have been painted after falling intoa collectors hands? Are some of them life-size?

I visited a flea market Sunday, and there was a vendor in the 'upscale' section of estate sale items. He had a handful of birds like these, at $100 each for most, some more. He said the material is sort of a composite ivory, the powder and tiny bits left from carving larger items was compressed into this material. Date wise he said 50s-60s. I held a tiny thrush, it was exquisite but out of my range too bad!

Very rare pose , interesting bird.

Yes, i know. But the feeling is like hardplastic. But the last newcomer is the only with the word "Japan", so i am not sure if it is the same or a similar serie or a other material.
