That's ok, the sun was very bright and it does give the impression of flash.

9 days from Poland to California!

My Gaur from Anna just arrived minutes ago and i'm so excited i can't stand it! i had him delivered to my work, since i didn't want him sitting on my front porch all day and i'm not unwrapping him until i get home tonight, since after travelling half way around the planet safely, i'm not going to risk damaging him in the last few miles. it will be a long day, waiting for tonight when i can admire him in full and rearrange my flock to make room for this lovely Gaur Ram.

but i did unwrap his head a little to get a peek at his face and *swoon* i'm in love. his nose is perfect and his eyes, indescribably beautiful.

yes, although he's smaller than most of my ranking rams, he's resin and they're porcelain, so i don't think they'll challenge him. Plus, he has pointy horns. However, the BFA Blackfaced Tup is not only also resin, he's a lot bigger, so Mr. Gaur needs to mind his manners around him. You might be interested in knowing that the Tup's name is Robert. (After Robert the Bruce, since he's Scottish.)

He arrived before 9 AM, it's now 1:30 PM: about 4 1/2 hours to go!

Oh, and my BFA Suffolk Ewe's name is Harriet, after the Suffolk i fell in love with when i worked as an animal handler at the amusement park. Harriet started it all, my obsession with sheep. But for Harriet the Suffolk, i probably wouldn't be on STS and wouldn't have Anna's Gaur!

he's beautiful! good thing i didn't try to unwrap him at work: it took me 20 minutes and fine scissors and wire snippers to unwrap him. Anna packs well!

For the time being he'll stand in my bedroom, where i can admire him easily, but he will go into the cabinet eventually. For now, his companions are the HR Honora Saddlebred and the BFA Blackfaced family and Bluefaced Leicester family.

Ah, another congrats from me, he's beautiful Carolynn! Anna certainly packs her figurines well it took me about the same time to open mine!

So there's not only a tortoise called Harriet but a Suffolk sheep too

oh i do not at all begrudge the time unpacking! it's worth it to be sure he's safe. especially since the box arrived dented, i was very happy to see how well wrapped he was inside it!

Robert and Harriett were named before i came to STS, and most of the sheep do not even have names.
i usually wait for someone to tell me what their name is, but when you ask about "Roger" one popped into my mind. would you be offended if Roger were a lamb (a very nice lamb) or will you insist he be a ram?
